I counted 6 crane shaft pieces, plus the boom over the top of the building in one of gillynova's photos. From what I've read before, crane shaft pieces are 20 feet tall each. That would put it at around 140 feet over the top of the building, making it around 840 feet or so. Of course, that isn't precise since the angle might have made it difficult to tell how many shaft pieces were actually above the top of the building.

Final crane height on this one is 925', correct?

At least from the "eye test," it looks like 6xGuad is right around as tall as the Independent/Austonian currently, if not already slightly taller...

I'm going to go with slightly taller. It looks like the second photo is level, and as I scroll down the top of 6X is the first one to go out of frame on my screen.

The building is already making a massive impact from the north and northwest, with still another 170-ish feet to go.

Another shot just before we landed. The 183-71 interchange is in the foreground

The new 183 tollway is so useful. Hardly ever any traffic on the toll lanes, even in rush hour. I imagine once the I-35 works downtown get started (if ever) then it'll really start to get busy but for now it's saving me tons of time getting around the east side.

Yeah, if only the Aggies that designed it hadn't gotten away with making the highway maroon.

Does November seem right? They’ve got about 170 feet to go …

Sixth and Guadalupe is Already the Tallest Building in Austin

https://austin.towers.net/sixth-and-...ing-in-austin/

But although the official bean counters don’t start considering the building’s height until it’s completed and occupied, we’re a little more flexible around here, and lately it’s kinda hard not to notice that the tower is starting to rise awfully close to the 690-foot height of the current official tallest building in Austin, the Independent condos — or, as normal people who haven’t had their brains cooked by a skyscraper obsession usually call it, the Jenga tower. Have you noticed?
