Actually the most up to date figure for the tower is now at 858' so we already have a whopping 7' height bump from 851'!

CBTUH still seems to be using 850' though (which I think was the original north tower height with the other one being 1100')

It really depends if they are measuring from the top or bottom of the shaft.

JHC famously has a sky lobby for the residences. But it's definitely an exception. I was so confused when delivering there for Postmates in college

It's also a mixed-use building. I doubt a sky lobby would have made sense if the tower was strictly residential.

yeah a sky lobby wouldn't make sense for this tower if they want more units in the building they wouldn't put a sky lobby and waste space

I made a lil photoshop mockup of how this should look from across the river!

I think I got the perspective roughly correct-- it's obvi not this much taller than One Bennett Park, but it's a lot closer from this vantage point. The first setback is about 400ft up, and the roof of the Riverview condo building directly southwest is 260ft, so it might end up looking a bit different than this. It's a *rough* mockup lol

Thanks Jstange059 for the pic posting tips!! Hopefully this works haha

I dig that, thanks for putting it together! Gives a really good idea of the height compared to the immediate surroundings.

If I take Uber to work I would pass by that construction site on LSD. I almost blew that money on Uber just to see this instead of taking the CTA today lol

^ Would have been money well spent

I might make my way downtown this weekend to see it up close with the warm spring-like weather we are forecast to have.
