I think if you imagine the image is a view from the Southwest and you focus on how the floorplates(?) on the far left of the image are gradually shifting toward the
right from the bottom to the top (as do the columns with the magenta dots), this is the upward/outward expansion. A view from the Northeast would be the same.
The edges of the building which clearly expand outward are the Southwestern and the Northeastern. There is a symmetry to this building which is very cleverly
NOT visible from the East or West views.
From either of those views the building will appear to lean outward to the right as it rises. I think the rounded "corners" are vertical on all views.
