Yes but I'm sure the Great Prices part is true. Not sure about your average Joe but you'd have a hard time convincing me to live in that thing.

There's no way Edmonton did that to itself. Judging the outside, I think my people were somehow involved.

Lol! Yeah you guys love your bright coloured stucco!

Edmonton 'benefits' from a large Italian community and lots of blue collar jobs. The result is a pseudo Jersey Shore.

^Stucco? Are you insane? Vinyl siding for the finest in St. John's now.

They really should have built a canal. Or maybe a beach if its Jersey shore they were going for.

They can do one better! How about a full scale pirate ship in a mall?

^At least if The Venetian was connected to WEM it might make sense in a hillbilly 'classy' kind of way.

Christopher Columbus was a pirate? Good timing on your part. That section of WEM opened 30 years ago last week.

That's the problem with WEM. Even in spite of recent renovations it still has hideously tacky relics from the 80's. Worst of all is that dump they call the Fantasyland hotel:

This one's the Hollywood Luxury theme room, err I mean Jersey Shore. This is the least offensive one I could find.

Then there's this crap:

Who wouldn't want a soak in that hot tub? It honestly reminds me of Leisure Suit Larry.

And they still charge premium prices for these 'fantasy' suites.

Speaking of hot tubs and Leisure Suit Larry, am I the only one who thinks you'd contract a venereal disease sitting in this thing?

^^^
These rooms/themes are borrowed from the ubiquitous love hotels in South Korea and Japan.

To be clear I'm referring to the hotel in the WEB.
The room, in Osaka, I stayed in had chains and shackles against the wall. Of course it had the obligatory mirrors above the bed and hard core porn running on the television.

I made the mistake of pulling off the highway to fill up at the Costco at CrossIron Mills once... never again. Even with two highway exits I think it took a little over an hour and a half to get in and out of there.

Crossiron Mills is a relatively new mall, and it's already out of date.

West Edmonton Mall for the most part, has a neutral interior that lasted for at least 10 years.
The SantaMaria replica actually looks like a boat, who ever did it did a very good job.

WEM at least has the edge for the watermark which is still cool (though the joints in the slides hurt like a mutherfucker). Is that boat an actual replica of Columbus' ship? It always looked like a Disneyfied version of a ship to me.
