U.S. officials pick Greenbelt, Md., for new FBI national headquarters
Prince George’s suburb selected despite concerns from FBI leaders over the decision-making process, a person familiar with the situation said

"Federal officials have chosen a site in the Maryland suburbs to replace the FBI’s iconic but decaying national headquarters in downtown Washington, the General Services Administration and multiple people familiar with the decision said Wednesday. The decision follows years of pointed arguments about where the multibillion-dollar project should land.
But the decision to build the massive project in Prince George’s County won’t necessarily end the debate. The FBI has raised concerns about the site-selection process in recent months, according to a person familiar with the internal discussions who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe them. The person declined to further describe the concerns. An FBI spokeswoman referred questions to the GSA, the federal agency overseeing the process.
GSA Administrator Robin Carnahan confirmed the Greenbelt location in a statement late Wednesday. “GSA looks forward to building the FBI a state-of-the-art headquarters campus in Greenbelt to advance their critical mission for years to come,” Carnahan said..."
