Most of Buzzard Point was either vacant lots or industrial uses until recently. I would expect these utility lines will eventually be buried when the streets are repaved.

Nice photo but, unfortunately, the photo doesn't appear here.

I took a photo of that building across the street this morning. They were doing a concrete pour (hopefully with Cemex...). Our son is four years old and likes cement trucks-- at his preschool graduation, the teacher asked him what he wants to do when he is big. He said use the cement mixer and jackhammer.

Thanks for posting— I was going to take a photo of that development. It’s right next to the Brig. This building was planned for an extended period of time. I am glad it was finally built. It is good scale for lower Barracks Row.

I like those little retail bays. Nice charming little development, though a touch a detail on the facade and cornice line would have gone a long way.

The renderings called for a white facade with black details which I think would have popped a bit more than the gray.

^Likely none, given that it is adjacent to parking garages on both sides and several others within 50 yards. That is a tight space back there -- I wish we had more of these types of developments popping up all around downtown.

Barrack's Row hasn't fared so well since the COVID pandemic, with crime and drug use and several retail closings. Hopefully this development helps to turn things around.

Nice to see retail for the ground floor. I walk the area regularly and it appeared to have no retail space which I’m happy to see was wrong.

Looks like the Wardman redevelopment was able to obtain financing. Nice to see given interest rates killing off/delaying so many projects. Although, this seems like a missed opportunity compared to what could have been. This was originally proposed for 1,600 units, the ANC was pushing 1,200 units. But, the developer scaled it down. I assume to avoid Upper NW NIMBY opposition/activist lawsuits.

Here is a photo of this development on Barrack's Row that I took last week. The center door looks like it could be for retail and the door on the side of the building is likely for the residential units.

I took this photo of a 16-unit apartment building that was recently built on the corner of Wisconsin Ave and Macomb in Cleveland Park/Cathedral Heights. A historic house was relocated to construct this building on the corner of the street.
