Well... it's Westbank, what did you expect lol?

They're definitely known for the daring and flamboyant exterior designs pushing the envelopes for high-rises in western-Canada but don't mistake their product(s) as high-quality and anywhere worth it for their $. Locally, I would much rather buy from Polygon or Concord. International-developer wise, hands down Grosvenor is by far the most reliable when comparing similar price point.

Plenty of good examples that supports their shotty track record:

Although deficiencies in a new build are normal, so many of these are inexcusable for a high end building. Let's hope they step up and take care of all of these, I certinly would be one of those residents pointing it out. I live in a 1993-built building, and it is so well taken care of I can barely think of anything I would point as a deficiency or in need of repair, even at this age.

TBH, it makes me nerbous about the Butterfly. I'll be curious about how the Pattison building will turn out, that is Reliance Properties, not sure of their track record?

I can see lawyers on all sides rubbing their hands with glee. This is pretty much SOP for most developers.

What galls me is the "we're saving the planet" marketing BS that Westbank has used to become City Hall's favoured developer. Westbank pretty much has the planning department wrapped around its fingers. And some unsuspecting buyers get sucked into that hollow marketing shtick.

Don't forget they're aided by some of the extreme fanboys here. Like the Telus building:
-"How daring, a box protruding over the street"
-"But it intrudes on the public realm"
-"Don't you get it, it''s a box. Over the street. It's art"

I can do you one better on that front. The local architecture community here calls those protruding boxes "Brent Toderian's Love Handles".

In effect, calling out the City's own fanboy love with Westbank.

Aren't some contractors also better in terms of their reputation?
