Those are recessed back a ways from the exterior, probably getting a different treatment. More like interior walls separating different balconies than exterior facade panels.

Likely easier to incorporate the balconies into the building than try to engineer cantileavers

Definitely recessed balconies, which I hadn't noticed before. So kudos for the design in that regard. Cantilevered balconies look cheap and less safe to me. Plus recessed balconies give the residents some privacy while standing/sitting on them.

and correct me if I'm wrong, but the orange is gone for the resi portion, yeah? I recall someone saying it was on the NE end, but I don't see anything.

Am I weird for liking the orange lines? I think they add nice definition to the facade

That rendering posted by JACKinBeantown appears to have some orange in the residential section. On the right side, but it doesn't feel as prominent as the bottom section. Might be shadows messing with my eyes though.

Thanks for the photos davistexan!

Now that the white horizontal bars on the balconies are being completed as the the floors are being completed, we can really get to see the white square pattern emerge on the residential tower section. It looks Great. The recessed balconies are really hidden. This section almost looks smooth! Great deception.

I travel the over crossing of MoPac at Anderson/Spicewood Springs a lot and this tower is having quite a presence in the skyline now. Almost as tall as 6xGuad which is much closer and on higher ground.

I can't believe how quickly everything got built, it felt like only a few months ago when this was just a bunch of cranes

If it's about 12.30 feet per floor on that top section, at at floor 21 based on that photo, with just over two more floors it will match ATX height of 875'.

The core looks like it's already 26 feet taller than the floors so it's probably already the tallest in Austin now

One can really see the architectural geometry of this tower in the above photo. The Base Hotel has long double floor white lines (with lots of orange accents). The Mid Office Tower has white single floor rectangles (with some orange accent). The Top Residential Section has double floor white squares (and no orange accent). Each section a different shape and size; divided from each other with huge columns; and a future Slanted All White Crown.

It certainly is not a standard monolithic office tower of the past. Like it or not so much; This tower was Intentionally and Artfully Designed.

It's honestly a beautiful and unique tower. It really stands out from all directions of Austin
