I hope that Carter recreates some of the cast iron, sculpted fountains found in Europe and NY. They'd really add to the streetscape.

It does look really nice. Is that the building across from the High? Now something just needs to be built on that empty lot beside it..

Yes. The empty lot is where the Weiland building was to have been built.

I biked the Art on the Beltline a couple of weeks ago and noticed huge progress on this park!
Check it out - http://www.beltline.org/BeltLineBasics/Maps/HistoricFourthWardPark/tabid/3872/Default.aspx
These pics are from the website and there are many more. I guess the "whole in the donut" / Old Fourth Ward is gonna be the hot new place to live!

^ Imagine if they overcome NIMBY to connect from 10th/Monroe straight to City Hall East.

Skatepark at O4W also looks great.

As far as I know, the MO lot has been sold or at least in the process of being sold.

GA Dome renovation article

New to the boards- thought I'd finally post something...

The Atlanta Business Chronicle ran an article yesterday about the proposed renovation of the GA Dome- with some renderings. Here's the link:

http://atlanta.bizjournals.com/atlanta/stories/2010/06/28/daily19.html

Someone posted a link to an alternate proposal that a local firm did. Here's that link:

http://cloudarchitecturedesign.com/?p=13

Check out the rest- it looks pretty cool, and it's more integrated into Downtown and would help out the area. Plus, the Falcons wouldn't have to deal with the state.

Here's the firm's website: www.cloudarchitecturedesign.com
They must be new- I hadn't heard of them before.
