Add that Opus place phase 2, plans call for a second tower eventually. Both towers would have more then 120,000 Sq Ft of Retail. With colony square redevelopment and hopefully dewberry campanile redevelopment moving forward sometime soon, we will finally have a real center in Atlanta, a strong concentration of pedestrians and retail in one area, something that was needed for decades in this city.

North side MOB is deep and retaining wall up along west Peachtree.

Hanover West Peachtree is adding black brick along the northwest end of the building. As much as I would have liked more height at this location, the additional retail and what appears to be expanded sidewalks will be great for the neighborhood.

Any word on when post millennium or Modera expect to begin leasing??

I agree that this coulda/shoulda been a much larger tower, but the retail portion of this should be some of the nicest in the area.

I wonder besides the obvious height decision what changed with OPUS. When they first presented at DRC, it was no mention of selling units before construction. In fact, at the meeting, the project should have started in Q4 with DRC only requiring some small changes.

Did the SLS web site mention the Atlanta location?

I went to the site and breifly looked around but did see any mention of Atlanta yet.

SLS site did have Atlanta on it, unless they removed it recently (edit: still there http://www.sbe.com/hotels/locations/sls-atlanta/)

http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/n...t-barrier.html
Also Atlanta has broken the $50/ft barrier for Office Rents. And it isn't happening in Buckhead, Perimeter, Midtown, or Downtown. Ponce City Market broke that barrier. Which makes it more unfortunate that 525 North couldn't get financing.

It's supposed to be 9 stories taller than the Atlantic. I suppose the floor heights could be different between the two, but unlikely that drastic. If it is topped out, it would be a huge buzz kill

No, it isn't. Atlantic House is 32 stories. Apogee is 35 stories. They will be similar in height. Prepare for buzz kill...

I thought Apogee was supposed to be 39 stories. Did that get reduced at some point and I missed it?

I was looking at the wrong Apogee, sorry.

Related Development has announced that construction will start this month on Apogee Buckhead — a 35-story apartment tower to rise on Peachtree Road at Ga. Highway 400. Ultimately, it’ll stand four stories shy of its sister at 14th and West Peachtree Streets.
That article seems to imply that the Buckhead version will be 35 stories, while the Midtown one is still at 39.

Oh no! You are right. I totally misinterpreted that. So sorry for my mistake. I guess the photo of the midtown tower fooled me...

No worries. The graphics of the article were arranged somewhat misleadingly. They should've matched the head graphic to the headline.
