You can see the ebay site in the picture behind it where they are clearing the ground - to the SW on the other side of the tracks.

I thought the Draper station was a future station that would be built at the end of phase 2 of the Draper TRAX extension at a latter date? Was I way off on that? Is there such a station planned? I didn't think a Frontrunner station would be built in Draper initially.

Amazing what is happening back in Utah in the way of growth and expansion. Thanks Orlando for the many updates from the Enterprise.

So now we learn that California is even in much worse fiscal shape than originally thought, which was already disastrous enough. I guess Utah and Texas will continue to reap the rewards of California's wreckless taxing and spending.

It was initially planned to be a future station but because of the ebay campus it was decided to construct it now. Here are some construction updates on the FrontRunner South project including description of what is happening at the Draper Station: http://www.rideuta.com/mc/?page=Proj...h-Construction

Drove down to SLC and back this week. Went down there to help a buddy retrieve a car he bought in Orem. I was impressed with the amount of construction going on around the metro. SLC's economy looks impressively strong.

I really like that building they are building off 1-15 in American Fork??? Not sure the town. It' near the Timpanogos Highway exit. It has an impressive stature and looks to have a road going through/under it.

Also, FINALLY got to eat at an In-N-Out Burger.

Two weeks ago the new West Jordan Library opened--it's the new HQ of the Salt Lake County Library system, and they've built a community/event center into it as well.

Floor plans are here: http://www.viridiancenter.org/fd/index.htm

On that same page is a photo tour, which may be clickable here: http://www.viridiancenter.org/fd/pt/index.htm

West Jordan is building up an interesting civic core with their city hall and courts and park and TRAX Station and now this library; hopefully they can spur some more development in that area (Redwood Rd and 7800 South) in the next few years.

Hooray for Hollywood: Park City approves movie studio in narrow vote

City Council majority agrees to allow the disputed project at Quinn's Junction

By Jay Hamburger, The Park Record

http://www.parkrecord.com/ci_2071294...ce=most_viewed

...The vote was in favor of a firm called Quinn's Junction Partnership, the landowner. The City Council approved both the annexation of a little more than 29 acres into the Park City limits and development plans at the site totaling 374,000 square feet. The acreage is situated at the southwest corner of the U.S. 40-S.R. 248 interchange east of Prospector.

Raleigh Studios, a Hollywood studio, will anchor the project...

...The development team told the elected officials during the meeting the project would be built much differently if the land remained outside the city limits. They said the buildings would take up more space because they would not be as tall, there would be more parking spots and the architecture of the project would not be as tightly regulated...

.

Great pics Projects, I really like the massing of that building. Do you know what the material finish will be, and if it will continue that vintage style first established? I continue to be impressed with that Birkhill @ Fireclay neighborhood. It's going to be one very cool TOD in a few years.

Crews are now placings walls on the 1st and 2nd levels of the Embassy Hotel in West Valley City. Crews are also getting ready to begin work on level six of this seven story hotel. Five out of Seven floors are built.

I've always thought moving the prison was a good idea. I hope it does get moved. I don't think a smaller footprint will be good enough as property values probably won't be too high next to a prison.

I agree it should be moved. Always hated that the prison is the first thing I would see when entering the Salt Lake Valley from I-15.
