I wonder if they'll keep it lit dayside as well. It was notably almost invisible when viewed from across the river from the Aramark building during the day. The backdrop to the letters is white between the HVAC systems on the roof and the beige old Drexel building just up the street, making the letters almost imperceptible unless really looking for them.

Add to that that you can't see the full letters when stranding on the plaza and it's clear the sign is poorly designed from just about every aspect.

Yeah it needs to be higher or closer to the edge. It's like they didn't think about sight lines

Any updates?

Does anyone know what the condition is of this proposal to move forward after covid? I know that this is a first part of the schuylkill yards, but do you guys think this will happen soon?

^^^ I beleive they start construction on the residential towere in a few months, then the 14 floor one across the street, and i think the red one goes up in 1 1/2 years

Pretty sure the apartment building (3025 JFK) at 28 floors and 361 feet, will be breaking ground within the next couple of months.

The office building (3001 JFK) at 34 floors and 512 feet is supposed to break ground sometime next year. I believe Brandywine is negotiating lease terms with Dechert now to be the anchor tenant of 3001 JFK.

The 14-story building, 3151 Market, is supposed to break ground sometime next year too maybe? That may be a spec lab/life sciences building.

Don’t count out office buildings yet. Philly developers push ahead with new, pandemic-resistant designs

Ok, nothing special with the design, but looks solid, especially if high quality materials are used. A very traditional office bldg look.

I actually think that this building is incredibly tasteful. Good use of materials, not all glass, nice roof deck, etc.

Notice they removed the curvy arches from the ground to second floor. I really hope they didn't change anything on the red tower

It’s interesting that a number of Massachusetts private equity firms are looking at possibly moving here if Massachusetts enacts the 4 per cent millionaires tax. They don’t want New York and don’t want to live in Florida. Schuylkill Yards could represent a new cluster of private equity firms from the Boston area.

Not just private equity, but any sectors with lots of high paying executives with compensation over 1MM. I believe there's already a 5% tax on the wealthy up there, and to add this 4% will really but the death blow.

Hmmm.. I was going to say - that's interesting. Where are you seeing that?

Honestly, sounds like empty threats by big execs trying to strike down the tax, but we'll see....
