Yeah, it's not the cold but the rain! I can brave the cold, but rain and gray skies don't make for nice photos. I don't want our city to look dark and gloomy in my photos, as it is not like that most of the time (I know some local will disagree)!

But even when the weather will improve I will focus on the most interesting projects, like this one and few others, as I also have to take and edit photos on many other topics that you locals would overlook but I as a newbie (four years as a Vancouverite) will notice. So my and mcminsen's photography should completement each other nicely, with many others chipping in as well.

It will be an interesting year with many interesting projects ready to start or already in progress!

Thanks for the pics.

Does anybody know what's happening with 750 Pacific Blvd and the Plaza of Nations potential redevelopment? It seems like it's been on hold for a while. Given this real estate market, you'd think the developers would want to restart that asap. I don't see the point in waiting for more viaducts planning, since the area seems far enough away that it shouldn't matter.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know who owns that small parcel of land that's fenced in beside the Cambie off ramp, across from this site? I think right now it's home to a RV, and a boat or two. Would be a good mini tower, some infill, or just something better than a gravel lot!

Maybe some time later this summer this view of One Pacific will no longer be.

They are currently installing a fourth tower crane on site. Considering how little space there is already with three cranes, I was surprised to see that. Unfortunately the new crane is yellow and not red like the others.

Thanks for the heads up. That new yellow crane seems to be right in the middle of things. It'll be interesting to see how it works. Maybe the boom will be short.

I noticed that too. I wonder if the coverage needs are changing now that they are building above grade. Maybe once the new one is operating, one of the others will come down.

Good prediction...

Looks like the yellow one is because the Douglas Hotel tower is so long (?)

The yellow crane is being erected for the iron workers to erect their steel. It will be down before the others. The top end will be going up next weekend.

Quoting Delirium's post in the Great Canadian Skyline Thread II in the Canada forum. This photo seems to be fairly recent and gives a nice overview of Parq Vancouver on the left side of the picture. I wonder if Jenn Chan got herself a drone.

This photo got me thinking about the loss of larger trees in that area since the start of the casino. There are still some nice groves but I wonder if the ones on the Plaza of Nations site will eventually be chopped down or preserved.
