With all the hype around DTLA right now its easy to forget we still have a massive amount of vacant retail space (mostly concentrated around Financial/South Park).

That space in the second shot is actually part of the gym that is being built out next door. The corner location is prone space for a high end restaurant but not sure what's up

That really makes me sad. Hate seeing gyms on the ground floor in DTLA.

I wonder how Tender Greens feels about their signage.

I wonder what they're up to here. Hopefully they're not finished with this 8th Street side, this doesn't feel right.

To a moderator: this thread belongs in the city compilation or the LA subsection. It's a construction update photo thread. That's awesome but let's keep the my city photos a place a man can go to look at some nice skyline shots of this beautiful city.
I just looked at the last six pages and there are stand out shots for sure, to the o.p., why not just post those beauties instead of hiding them in between all the random construction pictures which clearly interest a handful of mostly LA members?

There already is an LA Compilation thread - its just mostly filled with noise. It seems people are liking this thread as it has 15,000 more views than the next highest-viewed thread in the My City Photos section (Page 1).

Here are some non-construction photos to cheer you up:

Amazing photos of the Park Plaza Hotel (both old and new) - and a great write-up on the website. I certainly recognize the interior shots of the building, but I never knew what or where this building was. Do you know who owns it now?
BTW - I'm lovin' this thread!

Thank you very much!

I believe its owned by something like 'Park Plaza Hotel LLC'. It's basically just a film studio & weekend wedding venue at this point.

I'd give anything to put it on rollers and move it a few miles east into Downtown proper.

The 8th & Francisco Garage is supposed to have retail, but who knows if it actually will. At least they are putting a facade on it.
