A few pics from various days this week. https://imgur.com/a/UrH658i

South Albert Ring Road bridge work seems to be coming to a close with the paving done. Rode past the Rapid Housing site this morning while detouring around Albert Street paving. Also passed by the General Hospital, the area for the new parkade is fenced off, the only work I've noticed so far is removal of the light poles.

A lot of progress on the new Francophone school on 2nd Ave N where Ken Jenkins school used to be. Last time I was past there in the spring they hadn't even started.

Some land south of the bypass diverging diamond interchange appears to be getting developed, both north and south of the service road. There's been a sign for a coop cardlock south of the service road for several years now.

Councilor Bresciani is the developer.

Her husband closed the school site and bought the land with no public bid.

Interesting to see the post on the new francophone school, followed shortly by the post on development on the Ecole de parc site on douglas avenue. The two are likely related events/ Ever since the catholic system left that site that land was eventually going to have something done to it.

As much as I'd love to blame her, that's simply not true.

The school was publicly listed for sale and sold to Regina Christian School who is subdividing off the lot for this project.

the developer is: The Winchester Group, yes ties to Cllr Bresciani.

I don't see underground parking? I just see a garage of sorts but all surface at the rear of the building. A complete waste on an in-fill site. Living in the neighborhood I support the density but if there was underground parking the building could be setback from the street which would lessen the impact. sharp building.

On the site plan you can see what looks like a driveway with ingress/egress arrows on the east side. There are only about 60 surface spots so it must have underground, especially if it has a daycare.

In the new rules of federal funding of density and building on transit corridors, would they be looking at trying to access some of that money given that the address is Douglas Avenue although it really looks more like it should have an address on 20th. The idea of less parking is always contentious though.

I'm sure this will face a ton of NiMBY attitude bc of it's size and the surrounding single home density.
