Confession: I once purchased a shirt from Joe Fresh. Wore it once but it felt so cheap and me by extension, so dirty for owning it, I tossed it and never bought anything from there again.

People can afford so much more than disposable fashion, they just have to realize they don't need closets bursting with cheap sewn-by-tiny-little-hands merchandise that will never last.

It actually is a standalone, there's no grocery store inside the station. Theres one in Calgary too... well actually outside the city - way up at Crossiron Mills mall.

The Loblaws is is in a separate building (although they might be connected, i don't remember), the Joe Fresh is in the old station and has a separate entrance.

The Loblaws is in an annex that adjoins the station.

It's in the same building. Park-Ex aka Montreal's cheap imitation Greektown is where i spent most of my nights when i lived in Montreal.

And i don't understand why people are hating on Joe Fresh. I'm betting the bank that those same people shop at H&M and Gap which are identical stores.

Everybody hates Joe Fresh because it's total crap, much much worse than H&M or Gap, which are crap also to begin with.

I look at it as a lower end version of Zara/Uniqlo/H&M. I've never actually bought anytinhg, bud based on the quality of meat and produce that Superstore stocks, I will assume that their clothing is also rubbish.

They have a Standalone Store at Quartier Dix30 in Brossard on the Montreal South Shore

EDMONTON - Rona Inc. unveiled its first “proximity store” Wednesday in Edmonton — the first of its new shrinking outlets intended to lure back shoppers and revive lacklustre financial results.

The Boucherville, Que.-based hardware chain says the new 35,000-square-foot Rona, at 18445 Stony Plain Road is the first of 15 proximity stores to open by 2014. They are considerably smaller than Rona’s big-box stores so they are easier to navigate and are to be located closer to major urban centres.

Joe Fresh just signed a deal in the states to open stores inside JC Penny stores

AS for the quality its not horrible no worse than H&M its not meant to last, its meant to wear while its trendy and than by than its worn out and you move on - fast fashion

I find the quality is very hit and miss. There are some items that just feel so flimsy that it's like you could just pull apart the seams with little effort, while other things seem just fine. Their jeans are just as good as any other jeans I own including those worth 2x as much. And so are the polo shirts. The hoodies aren't great but decent enough as a utilitarian piece. The cargo pants however, I'll be lucky if I get a year out of them.

But I got them on sale for under $15.

they don't like large people either XL is too small for me in most of their shirt sizes and they don't have anything bigger - they are very much like H&M sizes - I can't fit into any H&M clothing comfortably except for their socks lol

most other stores/brands i can get XL and still move around in them

anyway the stand alone stores usually have a better selection than the grocery store version

That announcement I hinted at months ago is finally happening tomorrow. Most of the info has already leaked out since but it will still firm up a certain major US dept store operator's official plans.

I hope AURA's mall is considerably better than the AMC disaster down the street. I'm a bit worried, especially given rumours about a 'Pacific Mall' type design and retailers like Marshalls. This could be very very bad, but I'll wait till it opens.
