Is that University Cres building done with passive building design? Seems like those white walls are some kind of modular, thick panels.

Wait, what's happening there? Is this the renovation of the Tetra Tech concrete bunker?

Isn't this part of the work to upgrade the water-proofing for the underground walkway?

hopefully the WAA doesn't think they need these barricades to remain for some reason related to maintaining the 24 hour status of the airport next...

Interesting. I hadn’t heard that the city was doing anything. It will be finished as though it is a normal sidewalk and plaza. The work is replacing the membrane on the Richardson property only but the crash walls need to be removed to do it.

scaffolding being set-up around the front of the legislature. wasn't aware the restoration job was so imminent but i suppose with the MB 150 celebrations put on hold there's nothing holding them back now and it's a good stimulus project.

That is what I had heard from somewhere high up in the fall, it's possible it has changed but it sounded like that's what was happening.

A few post up somebody was asking who the developer was. I keep forgetting to post that the sign in front of 1400 Henderson says A2A Homes.

Some more residential for Grant Park Pavillions (same as Grant Park Festival?). The first page already has a similar design at 1170 Taylor by Shindico. These are at 1120 Taylor and are [edit - also by Shindico and Pre-Con].

I wish the city would force them to build the apartments to the Taylor sidewalk. There's already 2000 parking spots behind them, why do they need to have parking on all 4 sides.

There are hydro lines that run along the south side of Taylor for that whole stretch, so the buildings likely have to be set back a bit to accommodate that. I guess the thinking is why have perfectly good empty space when you could just jam in more parking.

Those apartments are going to be right along the CN mainline. Come to think of it there's a fair bit of development near the mainline along Grant and Wilkes... hopefully that's a good sign for the prospects of residential development along the mainline through its downtown stretches.

Metis Nation Heritage Centre

P&M BMO sold to MB Metis Federation. The building will become the future home of the Metis Nation Heritage Centre.
