Site plan filed for a mixed use development at 11901 N Mopac Expy SVRD NB. Project is going by the name of "Hines Domain Northside". This site is currently home to an older La Quinta hotel.

I've been wondering when we would see some of those lots get some movement.

What I'd love to see is a triangular building go in between Duval, Burnet, and the Mopac Service rd. Is that even possible or is that easement for the roads or something?

Hopefully it gets some utterly confusing name like Flatiron Domain II, Domain Point Flatiron, or maybe even Triangle Domain

The Century Link building (in the lower right hand corner of that map) has been demolished in the last few weeks.

I would suggest The Triangle at The Domain North Point III even though there hasn't been a I or II.

Those would come later, of course.

It appears to be ROW, based on the TCAD map. It is not unprecedented for TxDOT to sell off even smaller and more unusually shaped remnants though (Koenig and Lamar for example).

Makes sense - thanks. Yeah, I could see that being a good piece of land to sell off at some point. I can't imagine TxDOT needing that for any sort of expansion.

I feel like I remember seeing them stage various types of road base material and machinery there over the years

Hines Domain Northside looks interesting. This will replace the La Quinta & environs just North of the Domain. It's a 203', 16-story office building & 173', 15-story residential building.

Yep, don't mind this one at all, for the location. Wouldn't want to see it Downtown, though.

Not the form, certainly, but a few more commercial/residential combo projects a la 6x wouldn't be so bad

North Austin shopping destination debuts 5 new tenants in food, fashion, and furniture

https://austin.culturemap.com/news/f...enants-austin/

As Austin grows, it works to balance new, much-demanded chains with old community gathering places. Places like The Domain and its neighbor Domain Northside give those changes a place to let downtown breathe while making sure Austin stays up to speed.

Domain Northside recently added five businesses to its offerings, bringing food from Austin and beyond, fashion, and furniture shopping. The five new businesses — Curry Up Now, Joybird, Easy Tiger, Rothy's and Gorjana — all arrive independently, and all but the latter are open now.

“We are thrilled about the latest additions to our tenant mix,” said Northwood Retail senior marketing director Alison Goodman in a press release. “Domain Northside’s growth has brought a unique retail, dining and entertainment experience to the city of Austin and these new businesses further our mission to provide a lively and dynamic space for our guests.”

IBM has begun the relocation process. They are looking for 375K sqft of office space to lease in the Domain area.
No info yet on exactly where they are moving but One Uptown will have 348K sqft of office space. I'm sure Brandywine would love to move them over so they can tear down the older buildings and keep a big tenant

Also, this move will free up the IBM building on the south side of the domain for redevelopment

Site plan filed for "Domain Block C Office" with an address of 11711 Domain Blvd. Current land use states Garage with future use as Office/Retail. Anyone know anything about this. Plugging that address into Google Maps doesn't make it immediately obvious what is getting re-developed.
