Dude, you should stop while you're behind. You clearly didn't read what I wrote or you have very poor reading comprehension.

I said I went FROM N. Buckhead to Midtown. Piedmont was definitely the NEXT best option for my particular commute, but P'tree was definitely the best way to go. I could get from W. Belle Isle in south Sandy Springs to 17th St. in 15-20 minutes on a regular basis by taking Roswell to P'tree because the lights were all timed pretty well. I didn't say that the streetcar should be cancelled just because of the people who use p'tree for their commute...I just said that it would degrade the efficiency.

Secondly, W. Peachtree doesn't even begin until you are already in Midtown. Please try using your brain before you type.

Well maybe it's those old trucks and the way that fella is dressed? The 70s was only 40 years ago, you know.

I think it might just be the glare and dirt on the window.

Exclamation Another sign that Atlanta is losing its status as "Capital of the South"

I'm a native Atlantan that's spending a few weeks in Charlotte for some contract work. I'm doing some research about the area, and I ran across this. It reminded me of the Grand Central Station (MARTA, AMTRAK, bus station) and Green Line projects discussed for the Five Points area, but this project in Charlotte is set to open in 2010...

http://charmeck.org/Departments/CATS/Rap...eway+Station/CGS+Project+Description.htm

After missing out on millions of federal transit dollars to Charlotte and Tampa (wtf?), and already losing the banking industry to North Carolina decades ago, I wonder if Atlanta will be the capital of anything in 20 years?

Atlanta seems to have dropped the bucket when it comes to future growth and mass transit.

Not that Atlanta's doing great - but Charlotte recently lost the Wachovia HQ, and is in the process of losing BOA HQ to NYC. There goes your "banking industry".

It's all relative.

Are you sure about that?

Yes. It's only a matter of time. I estimate one year. There's also a good chance that Delta relocates to NYC from Atlanta.
