They will need to maintain that kind of winning percentage to have a chance at the playoffs.

As for the Habs, they just can't seem to find a win in OT. They seem to be hard to beat in 60 minutes of play (only 8 losses in regulation), but when OT comes around, they just can't seem to get it done. Still, a point is a point. The way things are playing out, these extra points could be the deciding factor in who finishes 4th in the division.

Habs still have 4 games in hand, and are a point ahead of Vancouver.

Ya I think 16-6 the rest of the year would do it.
And after a terrible start playing 15 games in 25 days and going 19 days with just a single practice our schedule finally let's up after next week.
And we have beaten every team in our division lately.

It's funny they're showing the Toronto game and not the Vancouver game on the BC Sportsnet channel.

Finally: A shootout win for the Habs....

3 out of 4 points for both teams out of this mini series. So it's a wash, and doesn't help Vancouver's chances for a playoff spot, especially considering there are no more Habs-Vancouver games left in the season.

They will need both the Habs and Calgary to choke as well. Considering they have no more games left against the Habs, it means a 75% win percentage on its own might not be enough, as all those wins aren't going to come against the team right above them in the standings.

If the Habs continue with a .500 win %, it might be enough stay ahead of Vancouver.

Why was Montreal's overtime so lame. They're in our zone and pass it back to their goalie 3 times?
And I think they can catch Edmonton more than Montreal.

Massive comeback win by the Oil last night.

The biggest thing for me right now is that we have gone from a -3 goal differential to a +19.

Connor now at 60pts
Leon at 50pts

Puck possession is key in OT. They had no OT or shootout wins until yesterday. Since they don’t want to lose the puck unnecessarily, they were trying something new: pass the puck to Carey, reorganize and go on the attack again.

Desperate times calls for desperate measures. Then again, Carey is good at handling the puck, so it’s not a bad strategy.

Vancouver-Montreal was the national CBC game and Toronto-Calgary was the national Sportsnet game.

Calgary lost to Ottawa of all teams??
Against a 4th string goalie who has never played in the NHL?
And is this not the first time?

Don't worry Sutter is on it.

Weren't some people talking about gaudreau being McDavid level a few seasons ago? Giggle.

On the one hand, it's good that the veterans like Price and Weber can rest for a week. On the other, it means the end of the season will be even more congested in terms of games than it already was.

Hopefully the virus is contained with just the Habs. If this leaked to other Canadian teams and more quarantine is required, considering how late we are in the season, we might not get to 56 games per team. If that happens, win % will decide who makes the playoffs, I think.

Crazy news about former NHL official Tim Peel.

He just got caught saying what every ref has said since the first puck dropped ever lol. Peel was retiring next month anyway...last game was to be April 12th.
Way to protect the game NHL lol.

If every ref thinks like Peel, then the NHL has a problem.

I for one, think it was more of a one off than a general rule.

Bottom line, he screwed up and got caught. The NHL made the right call.

Game management is something taught to most referees from a young age. Equalizing games and calling penalties both ways on purpose is something most referees do to some degree. So, yeah, there's more referees like Peel, although he was exceptionally poor for an NHL referee for quite a while before this incident.
