Agreed. Such a dense development, would have been nice to at least have a corner store. I assume the hotel will at least have a restaurant, no?

Apparently, the 25 and 27 storey towers will start construction right after this one is complete.

No hotel component, it's furnished rental suites.

The 8 story building is a hotel/extended stay component.

From the developer in a direct conversation with me: 'Phase 1 (under construction) includes tower "LUX-U" (standard units) and "LUX-PLUS" (all inclusive, fully furnished units)'.

I'm not saying it doesn't have a hotel component, but it doesn't sound like it does from that statement.

The website is still very much referring to it as the LUX Hotel and Extended stay suites.

Awesome! Definitely looks like it's a hotel as well!

It looks like they will indeed! Take a look at the mechanical unit on the roof of the low-rise portion. It is clad in a yellowy/orangey aluminum siding.

Some of that empty land you see there is already spoken for. The lot beside Lux had a proposal for a seniors home. Add in the development on Cummings on the other side of Ogilvie. And the coming redevelopment of the Mandarin Ogilvie plaza and by the end of this decade, this area will be something else.

This place really sticks out when you are coming down the hill on the 105 towards the Alonzo bridge in Chelsea.

Are those orange/brown accents I see on the shorter midrise? I guess they are sticking with that design and we should see them on the tower as well.

Not quite as visible as the renderings suggested. Tower will have minimal orange highlights. I'll reserve my judgment until P1 is complete.

Oh, and the side of the hotel that remains incomplete should have a cool wall feature.

Somehow I though this phase was closer to Ogilvie. It dosen't look like there's that much space left in person. Will Claude Patate be shut down?

No pics because I was driving, but the hotel portion is looking really good. Quality materials, balcony glass. The orange accents are darker than the renderings, but very nice.

The feature wall though looks strange. They have some orange panel that look incomplete mixed in with corrugated metal panels. Very different from the rendering. Hope it's not the complete product.

This building looks really tall from different vantage points, and it's one of the ones you can easily see from the 417 as you approach the city from the east...

The way they worded that release certainly makes it sound like the 25 and 27 story towers will rise together. That would be epic, especially if the 24 story tower across the street and the 22 story tower next door rise at the same time. Insta-skyline.
