The previous guy forgot his sealed can of Pepsi in my Car2Go last night. That cuts the cost of my ride practically in half!

I once found a letter someone penned to his Fiance just prior to their wedding. His promises to her were so good, I kept it for future reference.

Here's a couple:
- to balance out some of my sports watching with trips to the theatre.
- I promise that I wil TRY to keep the house clean("try" being the operative word)

I can't type anymore as I'm tearing up.

Noticed a number of the corner stalls painted around Chinatown/Eau Claire today on my way to work, no signage yet though

That might speak to more about the popularity of Blackberry than folks honesty. .

As promised:

Whoops, that came out bigger than expected. (Words I've never heard a woman say) I'll try to fix that in Imgur.

Wow! This guy might be more sensitive than you Ramsay!

I think this guy should be speaking to the rough sex that he enjoys. I mean that must be the case if she needs ice at 3 in the morning!

Considering I've never been engaged, I think you might be right.

Maybe it was left by Jian?

he doesn't seem to discuss 'Big Ear Teddy,' which would be a dead giveaway.

Ha.. very good point.
Christ, reading about Big Ear Teddy gave me the heebee jeebees. What a fn' freak that man turned into.

Not sure if you've seen this link, but I can't stop watching his career go down the drain. It's a like a slow motion car wreck.

Used car2go today for the first time. Worked pretty well I must say. It was well worth the free registration and first 30 minutes free

Hopefully I didn't park incorrectly. There is some fear, I must say.

I like the way you turn your head around to back up, you can look right down at the street

Incidentally, I found a cassette tape in one of the ones I used.....not who who would want that back other than the 80's

So Car2Go emailed me (and I assume all Calgary members) with this note today:

Quote:
Dear car2go member,

Since launching car2go Calgary in July 2012, we have worked closely with the City of Calgary for an improved transportation infrastructure, where Calgarians can move from Point A to Point B with ease. car2go has grown immensely because of your continual support, and we will always strive to maintain, if not improve, our operations for the community.

We are encouraged and excited that the City of Calgary’s Transportation and Transit Committee will be presented a new, progressive car sharing policy this Wednesday. This policy, however, could impact how nearly 80,000 of our members in Calgary use the car2go service.

The proposed policy could limit the number of car2go vehicles allowed to park along metered streets and penalize our members in a number of ways:
  • Parking will be limited. Members will only be able to park in specific areas – please note that these areas will have varying regulations on the number of car2go vehicles allowed to park. According to city statistics, car2go currently represents less than 1% of traffic into and out of the downtown area.
  • Availability of vehicles will be restricted. Instead of having access to a car2go within a five minute walk, members will be challenged to walk much further to a vehicle to begin their trip.
  • Membership costs could increase. The policy requires additional costs, which could cause membership rates to rise

Today we are asking for your help. Let your elected official know how car2go has positively affected your day-to-day life, and that car sharing is a viable transportation option for Calgarians. With your support, we will be able to continue enhancing the service that we provide.

We urge you to express your support for car2go to the elected officials on the Transportation and Transit Committee.

You can also make your voice heard to your local councilor:

Mayor Nenshi, Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 3, Ward 4, Ward 5, Ward 6, Ward 7, Ward 8, Ward 9, Ward 10, Ward 11, Ward 12, Ward 13, Ward 14.

To find more information on what ward you are in, please visit: http://tinyurl.com/oehjwzq

Thank you for your support in helping the great city of Calgary grow and shine.

This is in response to the proposed carshare parking guidelines being discussed at T&T tomorrow (link to agenda).

I'll not make any editorial comments in this post.

Very happy this is taking place. Enough of subsidizing parking for special interest groups on the backs of the public at large, particularly the transit-going masses who so much more could use subsidies than the large corporations running these schemes.

Sorry how is a company paying the same rate as anyone else being subsidized? How about we start charging everyone (including Car2Go) for the pleasure of using our roadways for driving and parking?
