Is this what Carr Properties has proposed for the site?

Gross. I hope not. That also includes the Lakeside towers site.

Oh dear... That would be an insulting use of that site. We don't need a suburban apartment complex in one of the most important sites in Downtown IMO. The only thing I like is the park roof but the rest of it is a no no.

After looking at the website, I'm hoping this isn't what is actually planned. For one thing they have a tennis court where the Waterline is. Nor to they have the Travis Tower just park space. Waller will not look like that either.

An expanded view of the site at the link shows that it includes the Waterline & Travis sites which is obviously wrong. But it's a new rendering because it includes the 44 East Tower.

I know Carr has a presence in Austin (as they are the landlord for my office building), but have they ever actually developed any property here? Without that, it makes me think this isn't much more than the same thing we got with World Class Capital owning the property, save that the "buy and hold" play is from a legitimate business rather than a crook.

Just think, we could have had two pickle ball(?) courts instead of the Waterline supertall.

Ah, I knew something was off besides Waterline and The Travis missing. Either the city is working with Carr or this is solely for marketing purposes. The housing authority wouldn’t allow this without the developer replacing the existing units.

We even have a downtown golf course! This is definitely a brand new rendering because the 360 views show very recent views of U/C projects.

i don't mind the height, but it's so ugly and architecturally insignificant. at least make it memorable.

This has to be a joke. But the renderings including the individual apartment interiors are pretty well fleshed out.

This is someone's senior thesis. There's no relationship to anything having to do with the real world here because it completely erases Waller Creek and all the new parkland that's being built. Annnnnnd replaces it with a golf course.

If anything like this was ever even publicly considered, the city would riot.

That's where I'm leaning. They get an F for Urban Design. Maybe a B for their rendering skills.

Yeah that's the first thing I noticed too lol. We already have Butler Pitch and Putt, we don't need another, even though it is actually a pretty fun little spot in the Spring/Fall
