going back to aaron38's comment.......we are scheduled to top out in april of 2009. Also, yes they vibrate the concrete but not how you might imagine.....during the pour someone wears what looks like a jet pack with a long vibrator or "dick" as its referred to on the job, and plops it in for a couple seconds here and there to settle the concrete. Oh, and windows started being delivered today.

yes there are a handful of women (under 10) on the site who all are very pleasant to work with and work very hard......as for the deck (tower), there is a safety lady and at least 1 carpenter that i know of who is regularly up there. and replying to your second question......i dont know and i think its in my best interest not to ask their opinions.

Wow, they have a long, vibrating "dick" powered by a jet pack! Plop it in for a few seconds here or there to get the job done...
Seriously, though, Ive seen this concrete settling device in operation in some of Harryc's photos. Maybe the ones of 353 N Clark in the boom rundown thread?

So, white paint it is. Hopefully it won't look too awful

I just don't like paint - and I think white may detract from the impression of fluidity you get from those shots of the model. Something that would provide more contrast would be better.

This is one place where wavy glass is perfectly acceptable.

It seems pretty cold to be applying paint outside, but Im sure they wouldnt be doing it if it wasn't OK.

^ I think white paint is perfectly fine. Its not like they're trying to emulate some old fashioned brown/tan color (ie all of river north). and the glass looks good in that far away shot. very nice!
