It may not have been worth the cost for what is mostly a view of the Hyatt Centric. Building codes don't care what the likeliness is of a neighboring building being replaced in the future. For glass to be right on the property line like that it would have needed to be fire rated glass which is more costly than a typical window system, or they would have needed to pull the building back at least 3'-0" from the property line in order to have unprotected openings. Neither option may have allowed them to reserve the rooms for higher rates, so a blank wall it remains.
A similar comparison would be the blank wall on the Hilton Garden Inn adjacent to the Seventeenth Church of Christ Scientist and that one would have had much better views.
