The link is broken, not sure what you're asking.

I said the city has removed the seaplane docks development application from its website. And you then said, "Because it's no longer an application, it was issued a development permit. It's now up to the parks board if and when they proceed."

My question is what does the parks board have to do with the sea plane docks.

It doesn't, I am under the impression that we were talking about Harbour Green Park restaurant which is on Park boards land and up to them on wether to proceed or not.

Uh oh, you'll be getting more exercise now, they've put up a fence. Or maybe they're setting up a pass-through in that middle passage section on the paved part of the seawall between the fences!

Who can say for sure, we'll have to wait for more exciting fence updates!

Uh oh, online discussion board confusion! The message I was quoting had a link to the seaplane docks dev application on the city's web page (since removed).

Anyways, you can see the new seaplane terminal docks at the bottom side of the convention centre (north) and the temporary Harbour air docks to the right side of the photo (west).

It's my understanding of the plan that as of Dec 31st all flight operations will be at the new docks. And Harbour Air is going to build a new dock to the west of new docks? Or are they just going to move one of their existing docks over a bit? All to be completed in the next five weeks? Seems like a pretty tight time line.

...aren't they just going to use the new docks? They aren't at full capacity currently.

I would think that the "new" dock will be same as the existing docks (concrete). The old wooden ones are firewood.
It's probably already built and just has to be brought over and secured to the existing one ... one day job.

It's pretty full at night when all the planes are back, actually they still have to leave a couple at the old dock as there isn't enough room.
Don't forget there are other company planes there as well.

These two posts have possible marina information posted on this thread ages ago:

- officedweller - May 26, 2008, 12:44 PM

- jlousa - Jun 9, 2008, 1:14 PM

Haven't heard anything about any marina for some time though. Is this option still on the table?

I hope that never happens...although it's probably still in the books.

I haven't heard of anything recently - you would have thought it would have been built by now - unless they were waiting for the floatplane terminal issues to be resolved in case there was some sort of reconfiguration...

Isn't that a footing for a future marina ramp, at the water's edge to the east of the float plane ramp, in the picture posted earlier today?

The plan as far as I know is still to proceed. The area while no longer dead could certainly use the marina to help increase pedestrian traffic.

It would no doubt be good for the pub to have the marina there.

Here's the original rendering, although I doubt it's the final design.

http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/show...&postcount=272

Looking at the Coal Harbour Marina, it's pretty devoid of Larger Yachts right now, so maybe there isn't a real need for it at the present.
Although it would be suitable for Harbour police and Harbour Pilots.

This new dock, coming by Dec 31st, won't be far from the existing temporary dock location. Will this be enough to quiet the noise that the neighbours have been complaining about?

Remaining trailer has been upgraded with stairs/electricity/etc presumably for fill-in-the-convention-centre-gap-restaurant or fill-in-the-seawall-gap projects. Large orange excavator has been moved onsite.

Fences have been configured so you can walk through from convention centre seawall to rest of seawall or into the parking lot! The seawall is now continuous!

Remaining seawall gap to be fixed up.

Path from existing seawall to convention centre seawall & to parking lot.

Path to parking lot.

View from convention centre seawall to existing seawall.

Wed Dec/5 Harbour Air still operating at of dock set to be removed by the 31st of December, according to City plan. No sign of new dock yet.
