Lots of great aerials posted by @ skycandy.

West of the core (with The Well on the right and Humber Bay in the distance).

160 Front Street West is not looking very elegant. Hoping finished pictures are better, but it's not looking great to me.

If that scene were a cocktail party, 160 Front would be the fat slob in the MAGA cap trying to mingle with the thin, elegant people. Look how the MINT towers are clustered together whispering about this incongruous guest. RBC has spotted 160 Front waddling eagerly in his direction, and is about to turn around and make small talk with Ritz-Carlton and 200 Front St.

Well I think it looks great. I don't know about "elegant" but that's just one of many possible positive attributes a building can have.

The terrible massing is a really big attribute. Everything else about it is at or above expectations. I definitely wouldn't refer to it as a fat slob. It's more like an obese runway model in a gown.

It's Trump with the MINT being the rest of the G7 leadership snickering or Trudeau post the Trump presidency.

My favourite people in big cities to meet and get to know have always been down-to-earth unpretentious types who are intellectually curious and lack the vacuous prejudices of sneering cosmopolitans. Not people like you.

I now feel sympathy for 160 Front as an underdog, and will take it upon myself to make a show of support for it anywhere that the thin and elegant towers gather in their snideness to mock their supposed architectural inferiors. I'm going to start a Facebook group and make T-shirts and everything.

160 Front supporters unite!

I'll take the sneering cosmopolitans over the drive-by, ad hominem attack dogs, any day of the week.

Well, they do tend to have better table manners. I'll grant you that.

What's the title of this thread again? Came to see skylines, not a political circle jerk.

Every conversation is the same now. Every situation can be linked by analogy to the 2016 US federal election. It was probably like this in Byzantium with the Blues and Greens.

I am reminded of the Roman Senator Cato. (Yes people, Cato is not originally a dog in a DC or Marvel comic book.)

According to legend for about 10 years he ended every single speech in the Senate, on any topic whatsoever, with a rousing "Carthago delenda est!" (Carthage must be destroyed). This was the era of Rome's conflict with Hannibal's Carthage, ie the Punic Wars.

I was merely trying to elicit some laffs, though I recognized the controversial aspect of the fat-ridicule.
I was sincerely apologetic and congenial with you after an explosive contre-temps a few weeks ago, but I see now it was an otiose errand. You never fail to come across as a miserable, inveterately contrarian individual. Rancour is your modus vivendi. You thrive off disagreement. I don't, so I shall no longer engage with you.
You regularly call people here "assholes". I strongly suggest you look in the mirror.

I've come to really loathe the axiomatic contempt for conservatives from the political class I used to nominatively be a part of, and I can't help recoiling and losing my cool when I see it employed so casually. I freely admit that the standard psychology 101 characterization vis-a-vis the zealotry of the convert (or its opposite, in my case) applies here for me. "All conservatives are backwards redneck hillbilly obesi-oids who are not cosmopolitan/kind/enlightened like us, ha ha ha" is a cliché that rolls so easily off the tongue.

If I'm a contrarian because 160 Front has become my new favourite skyscraper because of it, then so be it. Watch for merch links in this space!

Nobody said anything like that except you. Do you purposely post straw man arguments to get a rise out of people? I am convinced that you do. With a heavy dose of vitriol.
