Salt Lakers on here really have an inferiority complex when it comes to Denver. I think that's all we need to know to explain why it keeps coming up.

It's only natural. Salt Lake and Denver are similar in many ways. Both Rocky Mountain cities defined by mountains, skiing and a history of western culture. We're not like Phoenix and Las Vegas because those cities boomed well after Denver and SLC had been established. We're not like the California cities, outside, maybe Sacramento, due to the lack of a coast. We're not Northwestern, so, Portland and Seattle are out.
Denver and SLC might not be overly similar but the similarity is enough to lead to comparisons. That then leads us to question when we'll see the vertical growth Denver has experienced, even if it's only relative to our city's size.
Salt Lake still hasn't broken the 500 foot barrier despite breaking the 400 foot barrier 45 years ago. So, I'm guessing there's a bit of jealousy when a city in our region gets a proposal for a new tallest.
One day, tho, our day will come...
