Is that real rust or just painted to look like rust?

It's supposed to be "a weathered metal exterior of Cor-Ten steel." Corten "naturally rusts over time, producing a striking oxide finish." It's being used everywhere now, even on houses.

I hate to say it, and I'd love to be proven wrong, but I'd say that the roof feature of Husdon Place One is finished.

Nothing right now. But I heard a new 'tower' is supposed to start this fall.

Thanks for the link. It looks good and they are taller than the previous proposals for that site. It’s nice that Dockside Green is starting up again.

As this thread is about Victoria Construction I can't imagine anything more on point than Dockside Green, ironically. Dockside Green=Victoria's Expo lands

For something actually unrelated to the thread, I saw this business downtown yesterday and wanted to go in and watch them work but I expect that would have gone over like a pregnant polevaulter:

As for YoY, i'll just have to wait until it's finished to know if it's 19 or 20 stories because i'm stumped

Most of these buildings didn't exist just 5 years ago:

What's the confusion? The entire podium (everything below the first six tower levels that are going to be covered in the white panel cladding) is nine stories. But the commercial units along Yates extend through the second level, so the first residential level along Yates is actually the third floor. But in the lane the townhouses are two levels.

Dude, you should be the head of a neighbourhood association. North Park Manor and the Sandpiper and the Jack Davis and 921 North Park St. didn't exist? From that angle two of the tallest buildings are also two of the oldest.

(If we're housebound because of the plague we might as well get into an argument on the interwebs.)

The only buildings in the picture that existed 5 years ago were the Jack Davis Building, the Sandpiper and North Park Manor, the other 5 are new, although you can just barely see the other high-rise on Caledonia behind the arena

I can live with the rust cladding for that small portion of the Ironworks development. In moderation it should end up being just another interesting piece of the puzzle. But I hope nobody ever tries to do a sequel in the same neighbourhood.

In moderation it should end up being just another interesting piece of the puzzle.

"interesting"? You mean like how serial killers behavior is "interesting"? The puzzle is how it ever got approved

Having used the forum for over 20 years I got so used to pressing "quote" in posts but when I became an admin here a couple of years ago the quote button moved and got replaced by the "edit" button in it's spot which is a constant problem for me. I don't know how many fucking times i've done it but it's as annoying as fuck because I just can't seem to break the habit of pressing "edit" when I mean to press "quote"
