Meh, I'm also not huge on the new paint scheme of that building. Thought it was better before.

Also, loved the 1950 aerial. So neat to stare into a picture of a world that you know but were not a part of quite yet.

Thanks for the amazing photo!

This article raises a few questions:
1-Where is 5th and Broadway
2-Two new garages are under construction downtown?

Troubles with parking? New parking garages opening soon in Downtown Boise

Quote:
Parking in Boise can be a daily hassle, especially for those who work or live downtown. But there is some good news–two new parking garages are under construction in Downtown Boise. These garages are expected to be completed within the next four months.
Quote:
We plan to have these two new locations built within the next four months. One will be on 11th and Front Street, and the other one on 5th and Broadway,” said Max Clark, parking and facilities director for Capital City Development Corp (CCDC).

I figured as much, hence the rolling eye smilie.

Is this building the proposed office building with parking we first heard about years ago? I haven't seen any updates recently in the news.

I wonder if this is a preliminary rendering of the much-anticipated "Nest". I think that's the lot it's supposed to be on.

The office building (was going to be Cradlepoint's HQ) was a couple blocks east, if I'm not mistaken.

The building/garage rendering that they are showing is now the Fowler. When you look at the different view angles vs the streets names, you can align it. This could have been an earlier version of the building before the current version that got built.

And the garages they are referencing are the Fowler garage and pioneer garage. CCDC has purchased parking spaces within both garages that will to be open to the public.

Sawtooth--do you have an old photo from the same vantage point that you've taken? would be great to see them side-by-side (or top-and-bottom) to compare all the changes that have taken place over the years.

I do and will dig it up later this weekend. I also have some zoom photos of downtown south of Front taken last weekend that I will post.

Today:

I had to shuffle albums in my Photobucket account so this pic is back

I found some older Table Rock photos of mine for a comparison and they are on the way.

More Stadium Pics

**EDIT**
I've moved the images over to a new thread dedicated to the Sports Park. Given it's scale and significance, I figured it deserved it's own thread separate from the general development thread. Hopefully, it can follow the project from proposal to first pitch.

It looks like such an amazing project. I wish it was more of a slam-dunk to get green lighted.

Third times a charm?? Clay Carley's hotel proposal is back.

Another hotel for Downtown? This one would go where the Boise Rescue Mission once was
http://www.idahostatesman.com/news/b...184903173.html
Quote:
A prominent Boise developer has proposed an eight-story hotel attached to a parking garage on the north side of Front Street between 5th and 6th streets Downtown.

If built, the 138-room hotel would extend the streak of Downtown hotel construction that brought the Inn at 500 Capitol, a Hyatt Place and a Residence Inn this year, with a Hilton Garden Inn opening in 2018.
**Edit**
I'ive included the renders from the DR submittal. Looks like they are keeping the garage design from the last proposal.

6th & Front Hotel new permit #DRH17-00530
Enter this number when accessing the below city of boise permit slot.

Statesman article makes it sound like it could change again. As of now 138 rooms planned instead of 144.

It's a lot bigger than the renderings suggest. Here's a photo that appears to have been taken from a drone on Boise State's website.

The website has said "Coming Soon" to a construction cam for a while now. I'm assuming if it hasn't happened yet, it's not going to
