Loudermilk Cos. proposing 18-story Buckhead Village condo tower

This will apparently replace the midrise office building that was proposed last year on this site. http://buckheadview.com/2015/02/11/m...rry-peachtree/
It's about time some more condos start going up and its a great looking project.

Didn't I read somewhere that a big chunk of Peachtree Center had been purchased by the Saudis a few years ago? If so, they certainly have the capital for a major redo.

That Buckhead project looks great, too.

42-story luxury hotel, condo tower proposed on Crescent Avenue

Finally a condo project!

That's 77 12th in the background so this must be at the corner of 13th and Crescent where the old apartment building is located. This would be quite an upgrade.

26-acre project planned along Atlanta Beltline

It looks the West Town project is reawakening.

Awesome! I remember this being announced before the recession. I like the way this is laid out as a neighborhood as opposed to a subdivision. This city is really changing right before our eyes.

What I like most about this proposal is its small footprint. The city feels a lot more urban with multiple developments on one block than it does when one development consumes the whole block with much of it devoted to a parking deck.

A proposed Midtown TODis gaining momentum

From this article, it seems that two previous proposals are officially dead - the Metropolitan Center and the Arthritis building renovation to apartments.

Quote:
MetLife Inc. recently picked real estate services firm Jones Lang LaSalle Inc. as master developer for the insurance company’s 8.5-acre Midtown Heights, according to a statement from the companies.

The project would rise at the corner of Spring and 17th streets next to the Downtown Connector and MARTA’s Arts Center station. The site also stands just across from Atlantic Station. MetLife began assembling the property in 2006 and last year added a nearly 1-acre piece that included the five-story Arthritis Foundation building.

MetLife and JLL expect the project will be phased over 10 years.

Cool. I hadn't even noticed that 1270 had started. Its not a highrise but it is much needed infill.

BTW the Midtown Alliance lists the Hampton Inn & Suites as under construction so that is likely to be starting soon in the same area as well.

Anyone know what's going on with the office building project on North Avenue in O4W? I wonder why that hasn't gotten started yet. Are their permits still tied up?

525 North? I searched but couldn't find any permits they have filed but I thought for sure they had started permitting.

I think that's probably some sewer work because the Land Disturbance permit for the project is not yet approved. I recall some similar work occurring at Modera before actual construction started.

i'm curious about this too. this area of the city seems to be one of the most naturally beautiful parts, and with the highest elevation so it would deff have some great views of the skyline, along with being relatively close to the river. anyone with full access to the article see if it mentions any specific area?

its going right here https://goo.gl/maps/isYQdgpUtxk

at Bolton Pl / Bolton Dr. NW / Marietta Blvd. NW.. wont be any skyline views from here, but you can walk to Crestlawn Cemetery for some great views.. and i guess this will be somewhat walkable to Nuevo Larado, the new Scofflaw Brewing - maybe Top Golf if youre feeling frisky.. unfortuantely its pretty cut off from everything.. it will be an isolated development. but it does look cool. as someone living in the area im happy about it. Marietta Blvd is maybe a strange place for it since its such a wasteland

Fuqua Development is planning a roughly 4-acre mixed-use project overlooking Piedmon

I shudder to think of Fuqua building yet another project along the Beltline.
Anyone have any details on this project?

http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/n...-piedmont.html

Quote:
Atlanta-based Fuqua Development LLC is planning a roughly 4-acre mixed-use project overlooking Piedmont Park and the Beltline’s Eastside Trail. Early iterations of the project along Monroe Drive near 10th Street and next to Park Tavern restaurant include apartments, townhomes and a boutique hotel, according to people familiar with the discussions. It could also include a natural foods grocer and several chef-driven restaurants lining the Beltline, the sources said.
At least this is a great view of Midtown
