I like that Kitchener Urban Plaza thingy.

Also the Vancouver sunset at the top of the page reminds me of a Thunder Bay sunrise, though the trees are rather different.

My first photo set with UE's helpful processing training. I didn't use Lightbox, but I used what I learned from playing around with it to fix the colour cast without increasing the saturation. I love it! Much more natural looking.

Thanks! I agree now. After I fooled around with Lightbox, I got it.

Are the latest batch better? I'm still experimenting.

I preferred the vibrant colours of your previous photos, myself.

As a photographer, you're afforded some artistic license. Unless it's your goal, you don't have to represent things at their most earnest. Aside from editing, just think of things like long-exposures, black & white, shallow depths of focus, specialized lenses (fish-eyes, tilt-shift, etc.), or the textures of different films - none of these are particularly truthful, we don't see our surroundings in any of those ways - but they nonetheless make for beautiful imagery. And part of their appeal can specifically be found in their representation of familiar scenes in unfamiliar ways - it gives a different way of perceiving things; or ultimately just reflecting the vision of the photographer.

The Town of Cupids has all its bases covered.

Separatist NL flag, Canadian flag, provincial NL flag, Union flag (which replaced our colonial flag upon independence and remained our official flag until June 24, 1980), and the American flag.

Happened upon some drone footage of St. John's in a Miss Teen Newfoundland promo video. Screenshot of the city's longest crosswalk,

A few more...

The Basilica, with the Georgestown neighbourhood behind.

The Downtown East End.

A closer look at Georgestown and across to Confederation Hill and the East End.

And finally Fort Townshend and the new Royal Newfoundland Constabulary headquarters with my neighbourhood (you can see my house), Rabbittown, in the background.

I needed to get out of the house to cool off so I went for a drive to the suburban town of Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove and the baby humpback whale that's been playing there for the past few days was having a time for itself.

He was just swimming around the narrow cove, diving and surfacing, having fun.

And just so everyone knows... there are dense, streetcar suburb-style neighbourhoods under those trees. It's not a forest. Which makes it all the more impressive.
