So I looked up my work, and the Google Car went by as my bosses (who are brothers) were standing outside arguing with each other.

New police cars are coming. Yesterday I saw a Dodge Charger decalled in Winnipeg Police B&W and last week I saw a Taurus staff car fitted with a pushbar. Both sightings by the PSB.

Here's hoping they buy the Charger instead of the Taurus.

If they want to the front end to fall apart in 2 - 3 years, they'll buy the Charger. For me on the other hand, 4 chances is enough for the Dodge LX cars.

Evidence please.

The Charger is a good seller as a police car.

Last city tender was for 1 Dodge Charger and 2 Fords 1 FWD and 1 AWD. They also ordered 4 Ford Suv's

Charger was not cheap either. Announced winning tender price was $50,080.00

I have owned a Dodge Magnum, a Dodge Charger, and two Chrysler 300s. The front end needed major work at 100k on all of them with normal driving. Never have I had a Ford with that problem....other problems, but not that one.

The Charger is a great all-rounder police vehicle, but I think the new Ford Taurus Police Interceptor is the better car overall. I mean both cars have AWD, the Charger does have the already classic V8 Hemi, but Ford also has engine choices when harnessing power, which includes their Ecoboost twin-turbo V6 engine.

Honestly, I think we're going to see both the Charger and the Taurus on the streets. I think the Charger is a great pursuit vehicle, while the Taurus is a great vehicle for all seasons, especially in deep snow. Just the other day, I saw the new Taurus Police Interceptor in the new and current livery, and my God it actually looks amazing, yet menacing! A couple months ago, I saw the Dodge Charger police car, also in the same current and new livery.

Ladies and gentlemen, start getting used to seeing both the Charger and Taurus headlights in your rear view mirrors.

There was an episode of US Top Gear where the three hosts of the show each had their own car to test, which they tested the Chevrolet Caprice PPV (the old but same platformed Pontiac G8), Dodge Charger, and Ford Taurus Police Interceptor, and then versed each other to see which is the better police car. In short, the Taurus PI won the majority of the challenges, albeit very close in some.

That may not mean much to most of you, but if and when the WPS are shopping for new vehicles, chances are, they want to see these cars in action, before going on with ordering a new fleet of police cars for their specific needs. Personally, I would love to see the Taurus PI on the streets.

Just not in my rear view mirror with its LED cherries flashing.

I haven't seen the Taurus but I did see the Charger and it looks nice and big and mean! Although nothing like the Camaro the state trooper had in Colorado

It is never a good idea to have an entire fleet of vehicles from the same manufacturer or platform.

I saw both the Charger and Taurus out side the PSB a couple of times in the last few weeks. I really like the look of the Taurus in WPS livery.

I don't know if I agree with this... The whole point of purchasing the same vehicles is scalability, making the work more affordable and reliable, though I suppose for WPS it causes some security risks when all vehicles are the exact same.

That's not really proof, it's more of a bias judgement based on past experiences.

WPD had a Volvo for a test car for a week about 2 or 3 years ago. Apparently North American officers carry more stuff on their belts then in Europe so the officers found the seats cramped.

my buddy was an RCMP up north many years back and they were testing the Hummer H1 instead of Suburbans for the terrain. But in the end the cost was 2-1 so they still use Suburbans but he loved the Hummer and thought overall they definitly handled better off road.

You mean like a spare tire?

Sorry couldn't resist (says the guy with a 165/15 around his belly).

I like the LED light bars. They make the whole world look so unintentionally gay. The shade of fuscia they produce is one of my favourite colours.

Wow Hospitality sues Mayor Sam Katz
By: Staff Writer
Posted: 11:45 AM

Wow Hospitality has launched a lawsuit against Mayor Sam Katz, Hu's on First and the Winnipeg Goldeyes baseball club for allegedly failing to pay fees owed from a former contract.
According to a statement of claim filed in the Court of Queen's Bench, Wow Hospitality agreed to manage the food and beverage operations at what was then Canwest Global Park in February 2000. Court documents allege Wow Hospitality would be paid a basic management fee, plus an additional five per cent of gross sales of certain food and beverages.
