not sure if you guys care but i'm super pumped... so after an application and interview process i've been selected to join a team of university students that will be working with the city of vancouver to meet sustainability goals, starting in january. not sure what power we'll have but i think we'll be working as a sort of link between city hall and community leaders (business, charities, social justice groups, advocates, neighbourhood houses, community centres, citizens, etc).

should be a lot of fun and very interesting!

here's info on the goals: greenest city in the world by 2020.

For dinner I had QT. For those who don't know what I mean, QT is a gas station chain for aggressive fat people from St. Louis to PHX, the larger cities on the plains other than MPLS, and Atlanta. There is a machine that squirts liquid chili AND cheese, and a half dozen or more heated roller food product stations. Generally it is an inexplicably active clusterfuck compared with most gas stations, and the attendants are assumed to be on 5 hour energy as a baseline, with yellowjacket chasers washed down with drams of monster energy.

My parents love their coffee. Also: The first thing you encounter exiting the Phoenix airport to the south is a QT.

Yeah, I get a coffee from QT every morning, and maybe a half stale breakfast sandwhich.

I remember seeing those when I would drive through Des Moines. Never had the pleasure to stop however.

It's more successful than their 1970s venture into waste management, "Kum Dumpsters, Inc".
