Extactly. It's the colour they use. And the windows could have more of a tint to them. That would make it look a lot cleaner. Right now it looks like it's cluttered up with blandness. I don't hate the building overall. Just a let down considering what was approved originally

That's the weird thing -
most buildings will separate styles or colours into zones vertically based on - podium, tower/shaft, top/cap.

Here, the treatment is based on façade (like sides of a rubic's cube) - so you get an odd disjuncture at the most prominent corner.

The elevator on the Georgia Street plaza is pretty well uncovered now. Looks like there will be a water feature on the east side of it.

No, I wear a different hat each day so they don't catch on.

Agreed, and I wonder how many years before the new tree obscures it.

They'll have to prune them when they hit the protruding part too.

Do the signs light up?

They'll probably have something at street level too. Perhaps a host(ess) podium or something like that.

Strange that they would have furniture outside a month before opening.

They need to test everything out ahead of time, and of course they will likely have a soft open before their grand opening.

Pics by me today:

Glass clad (lighted?) edge being installed on Robson side:

NOTE the broken glass on the sawtooth façade spandrel
- you can see how much the glass contributes to the colour of the finished panel.

Pretty sure that's always been a Nesters.

Nesters is located a couple of blocks south on Seymour.

Nestors is 2 blocks away @ Nelson
IGA was previously Marketplace IGA (green sign)

There's an unusually high concentration of red signage on that building.
