I think "odd" is Zaza's whole schtick, so I wouldn't be surprised if it stays. I think it's kinda cool.

Wow, that's beautiful. Do you have the original link for that? I'd like to share it, but I need the original for the credit.

I never really noticed before, but West 5th is starting to look like East 5th.

I had mentioned in another thread that a buddy of mine operates tower cranes around the city, a couple of notable jobs being the Independent and Northshore. He sent me some really awesome photos that in some cases, are firsts for Austin. You can see what I mean in these shots below.

^Wow. What an awesome photo! I saw the 747 fly out over our neighborhood in August. I was out back doing some yard work, and I heard it roaring. I ran over to where I thought I could see it, and it was climbing pretty low on the horizon just north of me. I wish I had my camera with me at that moment because seeing it bank as it climbed was
just too cool.

Sometimes, to me, Austin still does feel like a quaint, mid-sized city.

Though I'm sad Frost Bank Tower can't be seen anymore, I'm excited that Block 185 will be front & center in that view - forever!
