Season is 25% done now.

Regulation wins in backets.

7 - Winnipeg 12-7-0 24 (10) +12
16 - Montreal 10-6-3 23 (5) -3
19 - Ottawa 9-6-4 22 (6) -1
23 - Edmonton 9-9-4 22 (4) -15
27 - Toronto 9-9-2 20 (6) -4
28 - Vancouver 9-10-2 20 (5) -10
32 - Calgary 6-13-3 15 (5) -18

Last in regulation wins and almost last in goal differential. Edmonton might be Canada's worst team in some respects. And that's saying a lot because Calgary is really bad and Canada only has one good team at present and a couple of mediocre teams. Still lots of time, but right now Only Winnipeg and Montreal would make the playoffs.

Edmonton will have a 10 game win streak at some point and everyone will forget they have crappy defense and goaltending again lol. I'm surprised Vancouver is as bad as they are this year, figured they would have a bounce back season. Expected Toronto to take a step back with the loss of Marner, he was a key piece of that team. Montreal and Ottawa are continuing their ascent, and Winnipeg is in win now mode.

Flames crushed Buffalo last night, looked more like last years team. Andersson is killing it lately, getting his trade value up for us! Think we should get 3 1st round picks in the upcoming draft!

I don't see them getting a 10 game win streak at any point. That's just way too much overtime luck.

Flames now 2nd last in the league, and 1 point behind the Canucks. Still surprised Vancouver is this bad, wonder if they have a fire sale at the trade deadline and start to rebuild again.

It's hard to judge. The standings are hiding a lot this season and the standings race is even closer than the scoring race outside of Colorado. Even the fifth place team in the league by winning percentage is pretty lackluster. Vegas is 10-4-7. Effectively a .500 team if you say you don't get points for losing in OT. It's just a sea of mediocrity.

Apparently the Canucks are listening to offers for their stars, what a change from going all in 2 years ago. The Flames would like to thank the Canucks for the picks and prospects we received.

League too easy for Oilers once again. We didn't even try.

Give us some competition.

It would be great to see relegation in the NHL. Maybe it would put a fire under some players and coaches and management.

No one picks up Benn. No one gets the rebound. Bad play on the boards for t a 2 on 1. Lousy clear. Skinner had no chance in the first period.

3.8 goals against a game.

Rumours linking Oilers to Binnington, wonder what they would have to give up to get him out of St Louis. As a Flames fan I'd prefer to see the Oilers lock up Skinner for the rest of his natural life! lol

The only team not listed? Ottawa. And half the league has two goalies with a better save percentage than any of the two starters on the Oilers. I am a big proponent that save percentage is a team stat because the kinds of shots and coverage given up do play a huge part.

You can't fool fundamentals and Edmonton is a fundamentally BAD team. They seem old and slow and can't cover anything defensively anymore.

Canadian teams not doing well currently. TSN has the Jets as the top Canadian team in their power ranking at 16. Vancouver is dead last at 32 lol.

Currently Montreal would make the playoffs, but Florida is behind them and getting Tkachuk back in January. Could be another 2015-2016 with no Canadian teams make the playoffs.

"Meh" is about the best rating I can give any of them right now.

They were 5-8-0 (one of those wins was a shootout) in November.

Over the last 10 games, Calgary has been Canada's best team.

Calgary 5-3-2
Ottawa 5-4-1
Edmonton 5-4-1
Montreal 4-5-1
Winnipeg 4-6
Vancouver 2-5-3
Toronto 3-5-2

Everyone but Winnipeg plays tonight. My predictions:
Montreal W
Ottawa OTL
Toronto L
Calgary W
Canucks L
Edmonton W

That's not something I thought I would read this season! I'm slightly nervous the Flames will start to do well and play themselves out of a top pick this summer.

There's a sea of mediocrity and Calgary has goaltending. Someone needs to demote Cooley to work on his game or something.

It's a long season. A lot of things are going to happen. There are only a handful of actually good teams so far this season and Florida and Edmonton aren't them. Florida is missing Tkachuk (back soon) and Barkov, I'm not sure what Edmonton's excuse is now that Hyman is back.

Whats this? A calgarian wanting their team to ... not do well so they get a better pick?

I remember during the decade of darkness how the flames fuckers would jump on the oilers for hoping for a better draft pick.

Odd how times have changed.

Fuckers.

Well, the Oilers did do it several times in a row while we have never drafted #1. If we are still hoping for the top pick in 5 years, then we can talk lol.

I only managed to pick the Canucks losing last night. Yikes. Good thing I don't make my living on sports betting.

I figured Edmonton would come up big. Lots of good chances. Skinner probably should have made that save, but he only gave up one. Maybe McDavid needs to shoot more he passed on a couple of shot opportunities.
