Great game :
The seating capacity of the stadium is 33,000, although it can be expanded to 40,000.

Mosaic Stadium has an area of nearly 522,000 square feet, more than twice the area of its predecessor (250,108).
maybe one day it’ll be expanded

LOL. The permanent shelter they spent millions on was supposed to be the solution. I would not be surprised if it is underutilized other than on the coldest nights.

Enabling addicts to live in encampments with other addicts and dealers is not a good idea.

Do you have confidence that the city of Regina would not do that and they would have policies in place to ensure everybody’s safety

Vanier Cup celebrates 60th year with Regina debut

CBC's proud to sponsor this historic sporting event

CBC Communications · Posted: Sep 02, 2025 3:29 PM PDT | Last Updated: 28 min
It's the crowning achievement in Canadian university football and its' never been hosted in the Queen City, until now.

Steeped in history, for the past 60 years, teams have fought long and hard to call the Vanier Cup their own.

From the first kick-off to the last second of play, there's excitement in the air. Come be a part of it
Regina is a hot bed for sporting events this year.

I'm hoping that the Vanier will get lots of publicity through the fall and draw a good crowd for the game. It will certainly help if the weather is better than it was in 2006 when Saskatoon hosted and it was bitterly cold. That said, Griffiths was full, and people still talk about that game today, though mainly due to the weather, rather than the quality of the game.

It helped that the Huskies were in that game

Regina and Greater Vancouver Food Banks team up for cross-provincial food trade
By Angela Stewart
Published: September 02,
Regina sent pulses and grains, while Vancouver sent fresh produce.

“The Vancouver Food Bank took a whole bunch of garden vegetables, fresh produce, and shipped it our way. Then in return, we shipped back a whole bunch of lentils, oats, some packaged products,” Regina Food Bank CEO John Bailey, told CTV News.

Bailey went on to say that the operation was the first of its kind.

“To the best of our knowledge, this sort of locally grown product being traded for more locally grown product, it’s first time it’s ever happened in Canada,” he noted.

This is awesome. It’s the first time this has been done.

Is Airbnb growth good for Regina?
SaskToday

REGINA — Airbnb says domestic bookings are on the rise across Canada, with Regina among the cities driving the growth. The company highlights Regina’s arts scene, sports, and Prairie charm as draws for travellers, while also pointing to economic benefits for local shops and restaurants.

Cargill’s Regina crush plant should help offset loss of China demand
The company will start commissioning the Saskatchewan canola plant in the next couple of months
Once fully operational it will purchase and process one million tonnes of canola seed per year.

That is the same amount of canola that Japan bought in 2024, making it Canada’s second-largest export market that year behind China.

China announced on Aug. 12 that it is implementing a 75.8 per cent anti-dumping duty on Canadian canola imports.

That effectively shutters the Chinese market, which consumed 5.86 million tonnes of Canadian canola seed in 2024.

Tracy Broughton, executive director of the Saskatchewan Canola Development Commission, said the commissioning of the Cargill plant could not have been any timelier.

Thank you, Regina is so lucky to have this major plant along with the soon to be constructed red leaf plant which will be like $1 billion

CBC

That monument is estimated to cost $900,000 and be completed by 2026. It will include 80 names of fallen first responders, with room to add more.

"Our protective services personnel are a critical component of our communities. They're the ones that are running into the face of danger when the rest of us are running away from it," said Corrections, Policing and Public Safety Minister Tim McLeod.

Nature Regina enthused about city designating area near airport as protected grasslands reserve
Larissa Kurz

It’s a significant victory for environmentalists fighting to conserve Saskatchewan’s natural grasslands, one of the most threatened ecosystems in North America, according to the Nature Conservancy of Canada.

This area is some of the last natural grassland left inside Regina. It’s home to over 200 species of plants, rare wildflowers, insects, birds and mammals, all catalogued by Nature Regina over the last two years.

The stadium is absolutely phenomenal. Might most likely cost $1 billion today. It’s one of the best things Regina has ever done
