Sales are aimed at investors like usual, Emblem is trying to push Hamilton in the GTA condo broker circles. The sales launch was at Exhibition Place lol. Sales have been shifting to the 905 lately and Hamilton is tangentially part of that, particularly with its new GO service.

Amazing, did they announce that somewhere. That is an incredible amount of demand, makes the other high-profile developers look a little sheepish.

Emblem looks to be stoking the broker networks with lots of cash to get sales through the door. Same with 1 Jarvis which sold out basically overnight.

Generally it’s great news to know these 3 towers and the 1,500 or so people they will house will likely be built in a few short years.

Something is up with them. All of their ads have disappeared from my facebook accounts over the last two days.

They literally launched sales of the second tower yesterday. Nothing is up. Sales are continuing.

I just came back to say I finally got one of their ads today. Hadn't seen one on any of my accounts for a couple of days after being bombarded with them for a few weeks.

Saw them doing soil testing again the other day. Doubt too much will start until third tower. The building isn't guaranteed until it sells 80% most likely.

IIRC they said Q4 2022 or Q1 2023 construction start, so a little bit longer still.

permit update. Shoring permits have been issued, we could start to see construction here any day now apparently.

Quote:

The excavation and shoring permit is for the development under building permit application # 22 133123 000 00 R3.

41 WILSON ST HAMILTON

Issued
Permits are also in for the entire building, listed as under review. This will be just under 1,000,000sf of gross floor area. I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes the largest single building permit ever issued in the City of Hamilton in terms of permit value. Interestingly, this apparently doesn't have any underground parking areas either, so it should go up quickly.

The proposed development at 41 Wilson St., Hamilton, ON L8R 1C6 consists of 3 high rise towers each reaching 31 stories connected by a 8 storey podium with total gross floor area of 92,349m2 including parking (there are no below grade levels). Retail space is located on the Ground/Mezzanine level. A total of 75,219m2 and 931 units of residential space as well as a total of 1,667m2 of at grade retail space (located on the Ground & Mezzanine levels) are proposed

It will be when there is more to do in this city. We need to get the entertainment side up again once there are people down here to do stuff again - can't just drink and eat lol.

…Cue the “Entertainment Precinct”. I agree we need more things to do, but I do think there’s more going on here than elsewhere in terms of entertainment options. FirstOntario does host some decent shows once in a while, the Ticats offer a sports option most comparable cities don’t have… so we are still punching above our weight. It’s more a matter of continuing the trend and bringing new stuff. I’m sure the Entertainment precinct will provide on this front however, whatever that will be. There’s a surprisingly large amount of money tied up in that.
