Interesting. The podium and tower are really quite distinct.

According to the NCC's Board Meeting the other day, Dream did get approval to tap into the City's sewer system for the building's heating and cooling.

Changed it back to approved. Cobalt on Discord spotted this amendment from April on DevApps:

https://devapps.ottawa.ca/en/applica...2-0069/details

Seems they want to partially rebuild Booth so that the plaza and the bridge more seamlessly integrate. So I guess the building is approved, but now we're waiting on approval of this partial Booth rebuild.

while the above is all accurate, the main reason for the no activity on site is a delay in the funding from CMHC. Dream doesn't want to start until they have the funding locked in.

i beeelieve Dream has delegated authority from the city (means site plan isn't approved yet but it's very close and they can start building)

the Booth Street bridge modifications are all expected to be feasible as it's a relatively new bridge and drawings are available.

another big coordination effort is around the existing LRT retaining wall. the project is going to be extending the retaining wall due to the new MUP running along the north of this site. even though the existing wall is only a few years old, no one can find drawings of it.

I was driving by after work yesterday and Marathon was on site drilling bore holes. Hopefully that means we are close to having this one started.

One must learn to walk before they can run!

I went for a walk straight through the open field site. I did not see any security or pile of fencing. I presume any fencing was set up for crowd control on Booth Street for Bluesfest. I counted 5 bore test holes. No activity on the site today.

I'm really excited for our new second tallest that would be right around the 50th tallest in Calgary. Damn.

If only those other tallest that have approvals actually got built instead of sitting there forever. I love these and can't wait for them to go up, but it would be nice to see our actual tallest towers planned go up in the near future....

Somebody who didn't know better would think you were being facetious.

Nice shot. And holy hell is that Hintonburg/Westboro satellite skyline ever coming along! Might have our own mini-Etobicoke in a few years.

If we can get going on LeBreton, fingers crossed for an arena and development, the 40 storey twins at the Westboro Curling Club. This view should look quite different by the end of the decade.

Don't forget 1040 Somerset! It will be a huge boon to the Western skyline from downtown and it's already under way! It will look huge because it's so much closer, but will still visually align with the west end skyline.

It’s crazy that this is all without 900 Albert and 951 Gladstone, both of which were my biggest hopes for the western skyline 5 years ago, and both barely on my radar now.

These Dream towers and the twins at Westboro Curling Club are going to be great additions to the skyline.
