How many future towers are shown here? Burrard Gateway isn't shown here (right?). It would be very prominent too, considering all the stubby towers in that area.

1550 Alberni (Kengo Kuma) is too tall, and also presumably too wide. The rezoning package is still on the City's website. The top of 1550 Alberni reaches the bottom of the revolving restaurant on the Empire Landmark.

As Logan5 noted, Burrard Place is missing. So are all the other proposed towers around both the Kuma and First Baptist towers - although to be fair, none of those have approved rezonings yet.

Was thinking - hopefully this goes up before whatever is happening on the Chevron lot.
Otherwise there wont be many angles to actually enjoy this tower from in its full glory.

If this project will be starting construction shortly, how long until it tops out do you think?

This tower is a huge exaggeration in height. It's supposed to be 13 meters taller than the Empire Landmark and that building has a higher elevation so 1550 Alberni should appear shorter. The height in the photo looks more like a 170m+ tower, which would look amazing there.

Demolition of the existing structure is sure taking a long time.

I doubt we'd get above ground level construction before the end of 2018.

I wouldn't expect them to complete excavation by the end of 2018, let alone be above ground.

Likewise.

Curious how long this will take.

I imagine it will be a challenging build.

Many major projects have project specific variances, you should familiarize yourself with 1550s in case you are barking up the wrong tree ie timing.

Yeah Saturday at 10am seems late. I bet they are allowed to start earlier than that

Just wait until the concrete trucks start at this one. These trucks are ridiculously noisy. I'm glad it's a wood frame building being built across from my place, but the underground parking and retail level was insanely noisy. I'd invest in some earplugs.
