Fair enough. I probably shouldn't speak to much on the location since I don't know much about QC. I'm definitely not a fan of the arena itself but one thing that is a positive is you can easily throw a football stadium beside the arena once the colisee is gone. Theirs your LA live Quebec city addition. too bad the Quebec city convention centre is so current.

I think it's overall size is larger, but I wouldn't say by much. However, the cool thing is that what you can see on the webcam is only the club seating up. A good majority of the Lower bowl general admission is below grade. At least what I can tell from the pictures that have been released and can reference.

CFL fields are a lot larger than NFL fields, so the footprint could actually be fairly similar with the difference in field size being offset by the difference in the number of seats.

Could be but I'd bet on Québecor or some name from that family: Vidéotron, TVA, etc. Or maybe Labatt which is largely shut out of anything related to the NHL at the moment (has been for ages).

I'd go so far as to say that it looks great. I like the unapologetically contemporary design... it's not something you often see in sports venues, or at least not since the 70s.

I also note that the location is still quite central (though not downtown) and surrounded by large swaths of open space ready for redevelopment along the lines of Lansdowne Park in case a market for commercial and residential space close to the arena emerges.

I'd say the Quebec rink is top notch. At least 9/10 in my books.

It's funny that Sun Life Stadium in Miami feels like a more appropriate use of the company name simply because of the warm climate - even though it's named after a Canadian company and not the climate. Not sure I'd get used to calling an arena in QC that.

This is all assuming that the rumor is true.
