Are there any diagrams and section drawings from the City of Miami for this project that you can post here.

It looks like the top floor could be used in a manner similar to the Wilshire Grand Center in Los Angeles, which also serves as an observation deck open to the public. Therefore, it looks like there could an observation deck of sorts open to the public, but with free admission.

Griffin Taps NYC’s Related to Develop New Miami Headquarters
-Billionaire is seeking to build tower in Brickell neighborhood
-New building is expected to include offices and a hotel

Quote:
Ken Griffin is partnering with Related Cos. to help develop the massive new Miami headquarters to house his Citadel businesses.

Related, known for its work on developments such as Hudson Yards, is being brought onto a project to build a 54-story tower along Miami’s waterfront at 1201 Brickell Bay Drive.

“We are excited to partner with the team from Related Companies as we work together to develop an iconic tower that will redefine Miami’s skyline,” a Citadel spokesperson said in an emailed statement.
Quote:
According to plans filed last year, the building will also include a hotel on the upper floors, a public pedestrian path along the water and retail and waterfront restaurant space. Foster + Partners will design the building.

....“Miami is a world class and global city deserving of the world-class tower that Ken Griffin has planned for Citadel’s headquarters,” said Bruce Beal, Related’s president. “Our team has deep experience building class AAA office at this scale, with unrivaled attention to detail, and we’re delighted to integrate our team of experts with Citadel to execute such an exciting project.”

Foster + Partners

For the design of Citadel’s new waterfront home, Griffin tapped starchitect Norman Foster and his Pritzker Prize-winning firm. During a career spanning seven decades, Foster has designed landmark office buildings for corporate giants such as JPMorgan Chase, Bloomberg and Hyundai. Foster + Partners’ best-known work includes Apple’s ring-shaped headquarters in Cupertino, California, Hearst Tower in Manhattan and the glass replacement dome on the Reichstag building in Berlin.

Renderings for the Citadel project show the concept: an all-glass tower that tapers as it rises to the top. The 55-story skyscraper’s first 34 floors will have 1.3 million square feet of office space and the uppermost floors will house 212 hotel rooms.

At a recent local government conference in Coral Gables, Griffin bragged that the future Citadel high-rise will be an “iconic building not just in Miami, but in the world.” He added: “The minute you set foot in that building, you will realize that you are in some place that is extraordinarily competitive with the best of London [and] New York.”

Get rid of that silly hat, or just scale it back a little so it's not as prominent; it looks ridiculous the way it is now, on an otherwise very handsome looking building.

Ha! I like the crown. It's a modern design with a little Miami flair. Without the crown, it's quite boring. A signature tower should have something at the top that can be lit up at night. Maybe it could be revised to a little, but I think the night view with some teal and purple would be a neat look.

Yes, the crown on top of the building is less prominent in the model compared to the renderings online. I actually prefer the look of the building in the model, as the crown in the renderings looks unattractive and out of place, definitely not fitting for an iconic Miami building.

The base looks different also...

There has been a revision to the crown, it's now larger while the building is the same height:

This has to be Foster's worst building ever. It looks ridiculous.

IMO Miami needs a pointy top not this. This occasion doesn't call for a British Fascinator.

Had the design for 350 Park looked like this, I would have needed a Prozac drip 24/7. This is heinous.

I've been hoping they were reduce/remove the top somewhere during the design process.

Checked the internet this morning.

Oh God.

I think it’s the height limit playing a role with the crown. If the could go up more, instead of outwards, you would likely see a taller building.

It also looks like some type of superhero headquarters. Is there a helipad up there?
