Progress is VERY slow at St. Laurent. The entranceways have barely changed from the pictures I posted in February. The interior is coming together a little bit. The new food court look is actually very nice, it's my favourite part of the renovation.

The escalators near Dollarama and OC Transpo have been broken (in maintenance?) since one year and a half.
Is that normal or is that a record?

Wouldn't the escalators to the lower level Transitway be shut anyway as the lower level station is closed for LRT conversion?

There is retail located at that level.

The entrances are finally nearing completion and they don't look too bad! The one by toys r us lights up at night.

it hasn't been a fantastic project, that's for sure. the new furniture looks cheap and the big ball lights they installed seem too high into the ceiling and too disorganized to make any real statement aside from look at these neat lights we bought.

i forgot to add that the mall was planning a grand opening event in march. that's how far they've been delayed.

And the seating area of the food court is much worse than before.
It had some character before, now it just look like a temporary school cafeteria setup.

Based on page 9, it looks like they are actually building a third entrance to the station within the old ventilation shaft.

Getting a new academic tenant to replace the one that defunct a few years ago.

One of Ottawa’s largest career colleges is leaving its longtime downtown location and heading east to the St. Laurent Centre.

Willis College, which trains upwards of 300 students annually and has some 50 employees, has been at its current location on O’Connor Street, between Slater and Albert streets, for 60 years.

It’s now preparing to move into a facility inside the St. Laurent Centre that’s three times the size of its current location.

Willis College says this will allow it to expand and accept more students, in addition to offering free parking while remaining on a rapid transit line.

The school was first established in 1866 just up the road from its current location on O’Connor Street.
