Halifax ReTales is hinting that the land cleared in the Bayers Lake expansion area is likely going to be a Halifax Premium Outlets in 2018/19 with Saks off 5th, F21 Red among others.

It looks like there has been activity on the hill cleared 2 years ago. Most of the growth since than has been scrapped clean.

Any news for sure what is going in there, the mention of the Premium Outlets would be a fantastic addition to Metro!!! It's time to get the next phase started.

I could deal with less bayers lake and more downtown.. Bayers lake is a giant mess that shouldn't be allowed to grow any bigger than it is now...

It's unbelievable how much rock has been blasted and moved around there.

Based on the scale of this project it seems possible that Halifax ReTales prediction may happen:

This is just me being speculative but based on clues I THINK
there will be a "Halifax Premium Outlets" in the Bayers Lake expansion 2018/19, including a Saks Off 5th and F21 Red

That is consistent with earlier reports. I don’t understand how parking will work.

I'm sure the upper floors will have a wonderful view of the cement plant and recycling depots.

Aesthetically this would be a bit of a chimera between the original hotel and this. It's going to look... weird. But that's very on brand for Bayers Lake, I guess.

Actually they would have some pretty great views, even if Bayers Lake itself is ugly. The elevation of the top floors would probably be about 200 m above sea level. If you were facing south you'd have panoramic views of the lakes and ocean.

I wonder if something this tall would be permitted or if the top 5 floors will need to be ritually sacrificed at the altar to appease the planning gods.

Canada Computers & Electronics has just opened it's first location outside Ontario, Quebec, and B.C. in the former Home Outfitters spot.

Welcome to the forums,

Do you have some info on this? It's been speculated either Wal-mart or Costco would move into the new part of cleared land in Bayers Lake to get more space.

It appears construction may have started on the new Costco. The Bayers Lake "mountain" is currently being flattened with heavy machinery.
