I didn't catch the entire game tonight, but I was surprised to see the 'Hawks score 3 goals in the third period. I'm just glad that the 'Nucks won the game. We'll be better in Game 2, and I'm sure that Chicago will be better as well. Bear in mind too, that the Canucks have been off for about 10 days, since the last time they played in their series against St. Louis. They will definitely be better in Game 2. I can't see Luongo giving up another 3 goals like he did tonight (down low coverage not good - Kane was open for two of those rebound goals).

GO CANUCKS GOO!!!

You could see the nucks get their legs as the game went on. The first few shifts were atrocious! The powerplay wasn't clicking at all; two double minors without a single goal! And in the third, the nucks just let it slip away before Salo saved us at the end. Fewf.

Does anyone else here find it funny how against the Canucks the rest of Canada is on this forum? I remember in years past almost all of my friends and I routing for the last surviving Canadian teams after the Canucks went golfing. They seem to have no problem supporting Montreal or other Canadian cities. Again i feel those rocky mountains really do divide us from the rest of the nation, they seem to support nothing here.

^ It's not just this forum. I'm feeling nothing but hate here in Edmonton for the Canucks. I've had folks tell me they would have prefered Calgary to move forward. Calgary! Not easy being a Vancouver fan here right now, I'm catching a lot of flak...

Vancouver is different, from the perspectives of other cities, especially during winter - the landscape, social mix, architecture etc.

The Edmontonian would rather see the flames move on than the Canucks? It is almost beyond my belief. When I was in Edmonton, the hockey fans there hated the flames so much that they would prefer any team but the flames to win the Stanley cup.

could you imagine once we gain our legs back, how tougher we'll be to play against? I'm looking forward to Game 2, to see just how the Blackhawks will stack up against a Canucks team that has got their legs going, and playing competitive hockey - instead of just practicing all week. Canucks in 6!

Ah, the rest of the country (at least those with NHL teams) are just jealous that we are their only chance now to bring the Cup back to Canada, and in such a beautiful place such as Vancouver too! haha

No real Canucks fans cheered for Calgary or Edmonton to win in their recent cup runs (especially Calgary).

If you don't know why you shouldn't cheer for Alberta teams, that's even more proof you aren't a real fan.

Nationalism doesn't trump our hatred for each other, and that's the way it should be.

As a British Columbian you just gotta get used to resentment. I remember when Vancouver became Canada's official bid for the 2010 olympics and I believe it was the CBC that conducted a poll asking Canadians outside of BC if we had a chance in hell of actually winning the games. Guess what???? The majority of Canadians (I think it was over 60%) believed we had no chance of getting the games!!!

Ya, it's my fault. I just turned on the tv and Chicago scored immediately, and then twice more shortly after.
