Not sure if this answers any questions or continues to confuse - re: Bad Dog

thanks hmagazine.
The poster on that board is bang on about Pat Foss. Wow. Thank goodness there are few people on earth like her.
She was trying to meddle in the sale of the business for the past year or so. Rumour had it that she wanted the Bad Dog closed forever since it took down her 'fat people' art back when it started doing monthly art shows.

Locke just lost a gem. A few years ago I stopped going to Westdale completely. No need, being walking distance from Locke.
Now, I find myself if Westdale more than Locke due to My Dog Joe and loss of Bad Dog.
I'm sure a lame hair salon or antique store will open in it's place. Ahh, well....it was fun while it lasted.

No need to despair, raisethehammer.

The Courtyard is quite good (though I wish the coffee were a bit hotter), and they've opened up a backyard patio.

Yeah Locke street is far from being over just because one place closed. Although it lost a great place, i beleive something better will eventually replace it. WE just have to be patient

Cheers

hopefully something equal to Bad Dog will open up there. I doubt it will be better....that was the best cafe/breakfast spot ever to open in the Hammer in my lifetime.
At any rate....I've suddenly found the wonderful world of Denningers Eggwich and My Dog Joe's Frittata bagel. Awesome.
I'm amazed how few times I"ve been on Locke in the past month. It really needs to continue to diversify. WestTown is good every so often along with Bar on Locke. I use Goodness Me every couple months, but other than that, it was all about the Dog.

Anyone know what's opening in that large space at Chatham and Locke yet?

There's now two empty storefronts at Locke and Chatham with for sale signs. Two good spots since it's at a corner.

I'm writing this from the back patio (the courtyard!) at The Courtyard on Locke.
wow...what a great patio this is. great music, huge trees, victorian lamps, flowers and a cool water feature in an old bathtub.
The cappuccino is awesome and in really cool mugs.
Friendly service (they delivered my order right back to the patio...the bad dog stopped that a couple years back. lol).

And a sign up front says the patio is open until 8pm now.

come check it out. We could have more spots like this in Hamilton if not for our insane parking requirements that usually result in backyard/courtyard spots being turned into parking lots.

The old barber shop at Locke next to the corner store has been sold. In fact I think it went up for sale two weeks ago and already someone bought it and already it's under renovation. Quick!

if you're talking about the shop at Locke and Main, that is where the burrito/panini place up near Melbourne is moving to.

Ah ok, so there re-locating? There's a Mexican/Italian place up near Starbucks.

Also it looks like work is happening to the future Judy Marsales office at Locke. They ripped up Locke and now have a huge speed bump, guess they are re-doing the electricity or something for the building.

HAHA I know it's so strange. They should stick with Mexican, there isn't that many burrito places in Hamilton.

One time I bought olive oil there which had pepper and stuff inside the oil, it came to $35! I couldn't believe it lol. So I just use like a drop of oil on my bread lol

That building that's under renovation across from Starbucks I believe is supposed to open June 1. Suppose to be a jewelry store.

The scaffolding is coming down this morning for the building across from Starbucks. I really like the second floor, the whole floor has a glass façade.

I believe the 2nd floor is the jewelry store (the glass façade) - you can see they are already done inside. The first floor I don't know. The third floor is residential.
