I've always thought that Two Union Square in Seattle would do well for Vancouver. Tall, but not excessively so, sleek clean lines.

Proof that buildings can be grand and imposing without being excessively tall or impractically wide, no excuses Vancouver.

That is an amazing tower! love it, something like that would fit perfect in the CBD in Van.

It also looks to be about 200 to 220 meters? Again, a good fit for here

I agree with you, but try telling that to the "experts" and see how far you get.

Chicago. Been through it once, but never saw that part of. If that building is good enough for America's "First City of Architecture," it should be acceptable to planners and builders in Vancouver, non? .........

I'm sure it's acceptable to the planners, why not? they'd love to have it. It's not acceptable to the builders though because we don't need a 240M large floorplate office tower in this city. I can't picture any developer that would want to build 1.3M sqft of office space in this city when there's hardly demand to fill a building half or a third that size.

Yes, I certainly see your point. Nonetheless (especially given that the building has rather "classical" lines, if you will ...) maybe, years down the road, if/when Vancouver becomes a more corporate city and there is demand, it WILL be acceptable to builders. I could see it going in where the Burrard Building now stands. I realize this is years off.

Gorgeous new building planned for Nashville. Vancouver architects could certainly take some cues...

Yeah! like ultra ultra. Yes, Vancouver has not quite yet achieved a "signature" building as daring as this. We could go futher.

Ingels has at least one project in planning in all three of Canada's largest cities.

Info will be coming out soon.
