Access to the units is from the inside. As that area appears to be at the old higher, main floor level.

Looks like interior demo work on this building is halted again. On a positive note, the old BMO building two doors down is fenced in and I see workers going in and out daily.

I wonder if 138 Portage East is under a Christmas break shutdown?

That would be a long break as it's been a few months now since I've seen any activity there.

So it's just one building with seven floors built on top of the burnt building or is the that one getting torn down and a seven story is going up in its place?

7 storey building being added to the side of the old building. Previous days there was also an addition on top of the building.

So are the repairs of the building next door also imminent with this seven story potentially kicking off?

At this point, it is most likely a dead proposal.
Every proposed deal seems to come to die here.
Something should have started by now.

Building permits are all in.

Redesigned down to 7 floors on the addition no new floors on the existing building.

Out for tenders

Great news. So much opportunity in that area.

Interior demolition has finally resumed, albeit with a skeleton crew. No where to be seen are the tarps that covered up the big hole in the roof. So the rain is free to pour down through the floors below.

I'll try to post photos regularily from my spot in the BellMTS building.

Which construction company is doing the work again? What kind of reputation do they have for quality work?
