Can't speak to 300 Main, but the TNS towers have properly labelled 13th (and 4th) floors.

A little reconnaissance. This is indeed student housing like the two towers on Pembina. Makes sense. There’s good money in that. Hopefully there’s a few of this type of development because they can be better buildings than a lot of typical market rate housing.

This project is pretty much one of the buildings in their pretend rendering. A large 5-6 storey podium. Parkade in the middle with townhouses in front. 17ish storey tower above. Sounds pretty good.

On the river side of university crescent.

When we are talking about this proposal looking like one of those buildings in the pretend renderings are we talking about the above picture?

Alongside Forks 2.0. I hope they go full steam ahead with the plans, it'd be transformational.

Hopefully the developers that the U of M is able to sway our way have some success in the Southwood Circle project that they stick around for additional projects either in Southwood or elsewhere in the city (i.e. Point Douglas or Forks).

I'm assuming the U of M's higher quality criteria limits who may be interested in Winnipeg as there seems to be a particularly striking race to the bottom for the quality (cost) of finishings and building looks recently. Understandable in a high interest economy, but if we can show the quality builders they can also make some coin here then it might help things move along.

If it ends up looking anything like that, it would be fantastic.

I haven't seen these renders yet. They look generic and AI-ish, but the first one, the middle tower looks to be just over 20 storeys and could possibly be the proposed tower. The second looks generic and doesn't have the tall 20-something tower in it.

Not to get ahead of ourselves here. But is there any news on other developments, roads, paths, etc? I'm getting 'one large tower in a field' type vibes.

I think the utility and road construction is proceeding apace.
